I like how the argument against the bill in the comments involves the whole 'when their buildings get swallowed by the ocean they won't be so quick to dismiss global warming'. Because you know it'll happen so quickly that things will be swallowed and yet only using historical data from after 1900 is unreasonable because the changes aren't linear and it isn't occuring at a fast enough rate for it to be well documented from just the 1900's onwards.

Loki, you seem to be treating it as if in 2099 the Ocean is suddenly going to increase by 30-something inches, after negligent growth before that. Nearly all studies indicate that the ocean is covering more land, and due to global warming and the melting of polar ice, it is going to continue in a non-linear pace. It is going to speed up.

Apparently the people in charge of FanFiction.net plan to remove all stories that have what they consider an MA rating. This means any detailed description of sexual/violent activity. Which means a lot of my favourite writers and myself (not to mention a large portion of writers on the site) will find all our hard work undone, simply because these prudes can't understand the distinction between gratuitous shock-fiction and decent writing. There's a petition going round, but I don't think it's going to be enough. If this goes through, I will start punching walls.

That's stupid. Why can't they just have a separate, perhaps age-restricted section? Especially since it's just text.

What's messing with my groove is that I'm too scared to right about what's messing with my groove in case it gets fixed for some nefarious purpose...

horribly demotivated and hate the fact that I have to keep working in this dead-end, meaningless, unfulfilling mind-numbing job because I need money for rent and food and stupid things ;)

why am I (or my parents) not filthy rich?

My suggestion is the following:
Sign up on job sites. Every morning spend 20 minutes looking for and marking jobs that interest you (and hopefully pay more). Go to shitty job. Come home then go through those you marked and apply for them. Repeat each day until better job is found.

I'm doing this right now and it keeps me a bit more motivated than I otherwise would be. There are better jobs and you will find them.

Somehow I managed to not hear about the transit of Venus until after it happend. If Briar King hadn't mentioned it to me I still wouldn't have heard about it. How did I miss all mention of this? o_O

I forgot to do something important in work. It slipped my mind despite being a basic thing but I knew Iwas in first thing in the morning so wasnt worried about that much. My boss, who is a nice guy, seems to be getting trouble for my mistake and I feel bad for that more than the mistake itself.

Hopefully it all blow over if I can get in early.

fixed for potential television show proposal, that will then air on FOX for 3 episodes before being unceremoniously cancelled much to the upset of its fans.

Fixed for further accuracy.
