Asshole of a weekend is turning in an asshole of an entire week.
"Sir, you are drunk!"
"Yes madam, I am, but in the morning I will be sober, and you will still be ugly."

Look for a common denominator.

Then eliminate said common denominator and lead a life (/death) full of bliss!

My boss has volunteered me to talk at a conference. All the other speakers on the program are Professors, it's chaired by some Lord and the delegate list includes the top brass from a load of global organisations. I'm scheduled to talk on something that is quite a long way out of my area of expertise. "Bricking it" doesn't even come close. I'm thinking of leaving the country!

Loads of things to do at work these days, stressing me out and fucking with my sleep. Last night was fitful at best, with me thinking on things I should do today. But for lack of sleep, I can't remember anything of the stuff that kept me awake last night. Oh, Irony!

Also: apparently I am a woman.

A Greek woman at that, if the rampant facial hair is any indication. :)

But what's killing me is my knees.

I'm going to go see a doctor - this is getting ridiculous. In about 3 years it's gone from strenuous exercise causing me some mild discomfort to basically constant ache.

The beer at the ballpark last night was $11.25 EACH for about 3/4 of a pint.

That's $22.50 for the equivalent of 2 1/2 beers-ish (bottle wise)...

I could buy a DAMNED 24 for that at the beer store for that!

That is highway robbery for beer at the ballpark. But what the hell kind of beer are you buying that only costs $22.50 for a 24 pack?

Ever had that situation where you're talking to someone and it gets onto one of those subjects that you shouldn't really talk about with people you don't know too well in case you find out they hold terrible views? Just had that! A chap at work who have to work with a lot and I thought was really nice not only turns out to be racist but seemed to think I am too!!!!!

I was telling him how nice the area I live in is and that it's very well off - as an off hand way to describe how well off it was, I said "it's basically full of rich white people". Can. Of. Worms.

Booked tickets and shit to Glasgow in August, to catch up with a friend who was free when we discussed convenient dates and (other) shit. Turns out he's going to Spain with his girlfriend, now, right on the same weekend but, even though he knew I was going to book everything while the prices were good, he though it a good idea not to mention it until a week later. Obviously, everything is also non-refundable. Hum... Posted Image

Realizing why you stopped playing something, even though you enjoyed it immensely. *wistful sigh*
