Didn't really eat properly last night at all (drank a bottle of wine tho), nor today...so sitting at work with less energy than I should have. Drank some tea which helped a BIT, but now all I want to do is go home and eat a proper meal...and of course it's only 1PM...and I have to wait till at least 4PM.

Fuck.

Remind me not to do this again.

Fucking overdrafted my checking account 5 days ago, and the bank's just been collecting overdraft fees for the last 5 days...

Now I TOTALLY don't have the money to cover that.

Being a H&S Officer is so much more shit than I ever imagined (and I imagined it being really quite very shit). In a building where we use acids, lasers, toxic chemicals, compressed gas and infectious disease material there is a quite a lot of serious stuff to do. That bit is shit enough but at least there's quite an obvious purpose despite it being an annoying self-perpetuating behemoth. It's the additional little bug bears of stupid idiots that I didn't fully appreciate when imagining how shit the role would be. First, some annoying git who has recently had a cold comes to me saying "The air conditioning in the office is too cold, I'm recovering from a cold and this is a H&S issue". My suggestion of "Bring a sweater to work" didn't go down too well so I had to look into the legal obligations of workplace temperature! Now I've got a really tall member of staff complaining that the self-closing mechanism on the doors is a health and safety hazard because one day he's going to bang his head. I replied with "I'm very sorry but all I can do is recommend that you duck. I can offer to adjust the tension in the mechanism so that it closes more slowly and therefore gives you longer to pass through the door before it moves and give you more clearance time". I get a really shirty reply basically suggesting I need to change all the fucking doors just because of one giant in a business of 50 normal sized people. I'm not saying it isn't annoying for him but come on!

Somehow only 3 of 4 fingers on my right hand were protected by this pot holder type cloth, so when I pulled out the oven rack to get my pizza my index finger went right up against the hot metal. So dumb. I will probably die sad and alone as a result of this one event spiraling into life decay.

Flipping Olympic Torch meaning that I get my weekend off cancelled. So I had to stand in more or less the same place today for 4 hours, getting burned to a crisp and tomorrow my face is gonna sting quite nastily! Tomorrow being the day that I have to come into work first thing just because the torch is still in the same city as me, despite the fact that I will have nothing to do with it tomorrow!

That would have been fine if I had any & was allowed to go & get it. I put some on before going out on shift but after that I was screwed! Anyway, as mentioned before I was up at 6:00 today for no real reason & I should be on a day off...

Iceland was great but the whole gothic thing is so common these days that it has no real 'wow' factor. Doesn't really make you go 'I HAVE to vote for them!'. Well, in my opinion anyways
