Because execs think that it protects them against pirates.
What they don't get is that it's exactly this kind of shit that drives people to downloading pirated and hassle free copies.

Yeah Steam does my head in too. But specifically now my groove is being messed up by the 49ers again and all that rubbish, and also how much I miss my girlfriend...

My current personalised license plates cost me $150 in perpepuity in the Northern Territory, and have 7 letters. You may have even recalled me posting it. If not, I will repost below.

I just looked up what it would cost me in Queensland, where I am moving shortly to my new posting, and the Army forces us to change our registration within a couple of months of arriving at a new posting.

$2295.

And it only goes to 6 letters maximum.

Fuck you, Qld Dept of Transport and Main Roads, you utter greedy useless ****s. ;) :D

Aww that's awesome! I can't believe they won't let you have them. :)

Groove is messed because I found out that a friend of mine does taekwondo. I used to do it as well. Irrationally, I now feel slightly jealous. God I hate being human.

you could get a character with 6 letters like.. er.. Fiddler. The thing is you have to be prepared to get pulled over with this type of license plat.

Edit.. Just noticed this is still 7 letter, it still seemed good at the time. How about Kallor?

edit edit.. or er.. Orlong

No tomatoes, that would just validate your existence. :D

Also, the Australian batting has gone back into it's familiar new routine of following a semi-decent innings with a shitty collapse. On the same flat track Tendulkar just scored 210 on. Useless middle-order bastards. ;)

Why on Earth would they force you to change the registration?
Can't you maintain your NT address and fees or get a military plate?

Actually acknowledging that the pun was terrible and responding to it validates my existence. :)

Agree with you on the cricket. Damn I miss the glory days. *nostalgic*

ETA: also, what Bizarro universe are the Aussie selectors living in that Brad Hodge has only six Tests under his belt, despite an average of 48 with the Bushrangers and 50 first-class hundreds?

Hang your plates on your letter box or door.... that'll fit right in out where you are moving too ;)

That was cruel.

I decided last night to, in lieu of studying for the nuclear chemistry exam I have tomorrow, to go out for a drink with an old ex-girlfriend. So I am even more screwed than I could have been (and not in the good way).

1. Life-saving Antibiotics that cost $2,000.00
2. Insurance that refuses to pay for life-saving $2,000.00 antibiotics because it can.

Fuck you.

That is all.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

No idea WHY, I only know they DO. You must change your rego and licence to the state you are in within a couple of months of marching in to your new unit. It's stupid.

Can't you maintain your NT address

Nope, that would involve me having to pay for a place I'm not residing in.

and fees or get a military plate?

No such thing. "Military" plates are just normal-ish ones with a D or an A prefix, and are only available to vehicles owned or leased by Defence.

Nonono, that amount was to get 6 letters maximum, or all letters, which in Qld is the highest level of 'prestige' plate. Anything else gets gradually cheaper because it's a combination of letters and numbers - like normal plates. :D

I am most displeased. ;) :D

I have a rather painful backache, for the second time in the last month. If I'd known that getting older was going to be this painful, I probably wouldn't have bothered doing it...
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Bertrand Russell
