Be thankful for that. We sure did, or at least those of us who pay attention to politics did.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

It's awesome, works great as a door (or window) stopper!

We sure do! Here's an example of getting hot running water in Poland. It often is the only way.

Last day at work before a two-week holiday, and stress.
Everyone is ranting and raving how they are unsure they can manage the stuff I do on a daily basis and have handed over for the next two weeks, despite me taking care to spread it over 4 people instead of piling it all on just one unlucky SoB, and yet the fucking morons I work with do not let me work on the big important stuff they rant and rave about, despite the obvious fact that this would make their work for the next two weeks easier, but instead bother me with fucking inconsequential things they should ask a secretary, or know as a secretary.

Airports. 2 of my classes were moved to different lecture halls without notice. And by without notice, this is the sort of Hitchhikers guide notice. The campus information system (which is unwieldy and nearly impossible to log on to from off campus) had the correct room listings, but you wouldn't have known to go looking for it.
