Sick. Tired because I'm too sick to sleep. Too poor to stay home. Had to give up one of my favorite vices. Great Aunt died. Been irrationally grumpy and annoyed with the world for the past few days. Have to find work for the summer. And for my life, the career isn't exactly hopping. Trying to get strong again, can barely do a pushup because of my bad wrist I hurt over a year ago, that the doctor told me was not broke and needed nothing more than a brace for 6 weeks. Can't breathe out of my nose. My remaining ferret is depressed from Oscar dieing, which is more worrisome than you might think as ferrets can literally die of heartbreak when their cagemate dies. Just been depressed lately, which makes me annoyed with myself for being all emo. Can't seem to work up the energy to type in complete sentences. Johnny Cash is still dead.

Are ferrets expensive? Can you get them for free through a newspaper or something like that? You really should get a new ferret for your remaining one.

I always think its sad when people get a single cat or dog. You should always get two so that they have a companion. Despite what humans like to think, it's my impression that pets get much more stimulation from interaction with their own kind than with their owners. It keeps them "wild" and not just a "human animal". It's hilarious to observe the relationship and reactions between two animals. I remember you could some times sense the war of wills between the older and younger dog my parents had. It would build for weeks and then blow up and then build again :p

Cool thing about getting a new animal when you already have one, is that the older one will teach the young one all the tricks it took for ever for the first one to figure out. Of course, this counts for bad habits as well :p

They aren't too expensive, about a hundred bucks. There are issues though. The ferret I still have is a rescue who it seems was horribly abused. She is very aggressive to people and other ferrets. So, I could potentially be putting a new ferret into a bad situation.

There's also the fact that ferrets can be very expensive once they get older. When Oscar got his first two types of cancer, surgery was an option. We didn't do it for a variety of reasons, but it makes me sick that the cost (it would have been around 1400 $) was a factor in our decision. Not the only one, or the most important one, but it was a factor. It turned out to be a good thing, because shortly after he was diagnosed with two more types of cancer. POint being that if I can't afford to give the best possible medical care, which i can't, I feel guilty owning the pet as there is an implied contract there, I'm going to keep you captive but in return I'll take good care of you.

There's also the factor that ferrets are as smart as dogs and have just as much personality, but only live 5-8 years mostly. I hurts so bad to lose them that I don't know if I want to subject myself to that anymore.

Alll that said, I'lll probably end up getting another ferret.

You sir are an awful man. Funny though. That was an unfortunate order to put those in. For the record, my lost vice and dead great aunt are in no way related.

Not to be a pedantic bear but anything to do with you and your great aunt are related. Okay, so I'm being a pedantic bear and I'll get my nose out of your business.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I recently got a new computer with some government hand out that we got. I was really happy with it, it was zooming along great, lots of space, nice and light, easy to use...then my friend spills half an ocean of beer on it. And won't pay for repairs (should they be able). And my phone died this morning. Fuck.

RLY, that sounds terrible, hope you feel better soon.

So sorry, dude, hope things go cool for you.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

I got a massage from a friend. Nothing suspicious, just a really good kind of deep tissue massage (pectoral muscles... ABOVE the boobs). Left me chest sore. Loosened the muscles nicely though, those muscles get tense for me.

Bad start of the week. Paper did not get accepted. 3 reviews, of which only one person did his job as expected. The other two were simply lame.

I know how bad public crying can be... :)

Still another week before this cast is off...when the time draws near, things slow down.

Going to a family gathering on Sunday that I was looking forward to as I will be seeing my lovely Great-uncle for the first time in aaaaages. Unfortunately it turns out that my new dad (i.e. mothers boyfriend) is going too and we hates him, don't we Precious? Not only that but we have to see him treating my mothers house like his own home for the first time and we're not going to take it well. Why can't she settle for growing old and dying alone like a dutiful mother should?
