It might be cold outside, but it's hotter than HELL in this house.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Being reminded of the Gaza strip and how the world watches Israel stomp all over it and bomb a school with children in it. What a nice bunch of people, those Israelies are.

Sorry, that was my Discussion Board Crossover Alert going off. :)

Work is messing with my groove, it's like frickin' Groundhog Day here. And not in the "I-get-to-try-out-all-sorts-of-approaches-and-bonk-every-hot-chick-in-town" NICE kind of Groundhog Day.

That and the fact that people seem to forget there are 2 sides to every story. Which is all I will say on the matter in this part of the forum.

Cheers,

I'm working to long hours. I waste all my good cheer trying to get through the work day, so then I'm left a empty shell of piss and vinegar.

I've turned into a huge asshole. I need to turn my ship around.

Why is there always an air crash within the four days before I fly anywhere? Or a strike, terror warning, small war declared near my destination...

Actually, I'd be kind of freaked out if there wasn't one now, it's becoming scarily predictable. On the plus side, everything tends to get double-checked in the days just before I fly.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Normally I don't mind Mondays that much as I like my job and most of the people I work with. However, tomorrow is going to be a nightmare. All of the river crossings in Vancouver run at full capacity or over during the morning and afternoon rush hours, and then this happens:

http://www.globaltv....html?id=1191547

While I don't take the Patullo to work, the redistribution of traffic will clog all of the crossings. It's going to be bumper to bumper from 5am to noon and 3pm to 8pm. If it wasn't for the possibility of the bridge being closed for an extended period (up to six weeks in the worst case), I would consider calling in sick until it re-opens. I could easily see this adding an hour each way onto my commute, and that of everyone else who uses any of the bridges.

Edit:
Now it's been confirmed, the Patullo Bridge will be closed for four to six weeks as the timber approach span needs to be replaced. It seems lax policing allowed either homeless people or drug users to congregate under the bridge. They then started a campfire to keep warm causing the creosote soaked timbers to catch fire. For the next four to six weeks roughly 175,000 people will see two to three hours added to thier return commute. I am pissed.

Messing with my groove: my lower right eyelid has been twitching off and on for close to a month now, lemme tell you it's ANNOYING. So now I'm finally going to the doc and of course that means sitting for hours in a crowded waiting room being exposed to a gazillion different kinds of germs...all to (most likely) have the doc say that it'll pass on its own and there's nothing he can do.

Argh...I'm frustrated ahead of time. :harhar:

Looks like my temp job will be finishing a lot sooner than I wanted and sooner than they told me last week :) Either this week or next week and I don't have another job lined up at the moment :)

Well we we're planing a Zombie RPG this weekend. One we've only played once, but I really love my character (A sociopathic, sadistic, paranoid pyromaniac psychopath who has a love for knives).
But one the key players, just fucking choked, while two choked last week.
I'm mad. The game was really really fun.
