Fear, nerves.........How the hell do I tell my folks?

Woo, I love other peoples drama! My sister quit uni when she was a youngster. My mother went apeshit. Years later it turns out that it was because she saw the absolute worst-case scenario and was terrified that my sister would do nothing with her life. When my sister put her alternative plans into action and showed my mother she wasn't planning on being a bum, it all got resolved. So if you haven't already done it, try and present to them something concrete as your alternative plan to show them that you aren't just "quitting".

If they do end up really down on you, don't worry too much about it. You have the rest of your lives for the ups and downs of family life. My parents have been terminally disappointed in me before now and I've been equally disappointed in them. I say it's their fault since they raised me :D

this is in contrast with the grim tidings of Maccy's story, a rather mundane problem

One of my housemates left already, and won't be back till January.
Problem is, he forgot to turn off his alarm clock, and it's now beelin incessantly in his locked room, that's separated from mine by a single wall.
I hope to god that it's a battery-powerd clock and it'll die at some point.
otherwse, I may hve to switch the fuse off to shut the damn thing off.

If it's mains, and you trip the power, it should reset when you turn the power back on, so it won't be going off.

Equally you could burn down his room, but mainly the house, in frustration. You have a reason.

Use your Shewee to piss through his keyhole, then poop through it.

Can you take the door off? Can ShamWow fix this? It's supposed to leave you saying WOW! everytime, and this would really be a "wow!" situation.

Brady Hoke leaving BSU, that has my groove messed with. :(
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Lish I think you should contact the creator of the Shewee and let her know that you want to be the official spokesman for her product. I swear you manage to find a use for it in every situation! :(

WHY?! WHY do people do this?! It was the curse of shared houses I lived in until I shared with mates who didn't lock their rooms (or get up in the morning...actually no, I was the only one who didn't know how to get up, the others had that relevant life skill). These kind of people should be strung up and shot. There is nothing more cruel to do to ones housemates. Death is the only justifiable retribution!!

Well, I refused to balme him too much, because I once forgot to turn my alarm clock off when i went to the library for a day, locking my room. By the time I got home (round 10-11PM), it must have been beeping for 3 hours.

HIS alarm clock did shut up at some point, however, removing the need to revert to any method suggested above.
if it does it tomorrow, and I'm still around (since i'm going home tomorrow, it's a maybe), i'll be playing with the fusebox a bit...

what's currently messing with my groove is that i'm done exams, but all my friends have already went hom, because they finished before me and I was the only person I know stuck here till the very last possible day of exams. :(

I've always wondered, how do you know when you have one? Is it so obvious as to rule out all doubt?

It wasn't bad, got a bit bored cos something came up for the managers and no-one had anything for me to do for a while. But I got some important phone calls made for some annoying stuff we are going through with our landlord at the moment. I've been the one handling it all... much fun. Our landlord is rather rude and unpleasant :(

I like the workplace though, had a 44 inch tv in the lunch room and we watched cricket and played with the office Wii (that is just cool). and I will gets paid :( monies are nice

thanks for asking :D

I aim to please, my dear! And how were your colleagues? Did you meet anyone nice?

Messing with my groove - bloody University accounts!!! I have to pay £2k for my New Jersey accommodation from my own pocket and then claim it back. I got a frickin travel grant to cover it but now they won't actually let me use it. Twits.

And my new office isn't even remotely built and I'm supposed to be moving in today. I'm sick of working in a box room piled up with all the spare furniture. On the plus side, I have no work to do because I was supposed to be moving, so here I am :(

Yeah everyone was pretty nice and chatted a bit to a couple of people :( We talked about cricket and the evils of moving tee hee

You should just kick the accounts people, kicking is always a good solution :( No work to do always means more fun at least, more fun the overworked at least :D
