all that dirty money is now swallowed up by a new apartment. I am elated and terrified in equal measures.

Congrats and welcome to the club

Thank you! Though I already own my own place, it's what made this possible really. This is a significant upgrade in size. 3 bedrooms rather than 1, and a bigger kitchen and bathroom. But also, you know, expensive. I am still waiting for my heart rate to go down.

First you get three bedrooms, then you gotta get three beds, then you gotta get like, what, six pillows? The expenses never end!

it's an ever growing source of expenses. We're tearing out the entire kitchen and getting a new one so that I can finally have the kitchen I want. I am very excited about the whole thing.

No, that's far too humane ... :p

I'm here for the kitchen stats. Describe the kitchen you want.

Right now our kitchen is in a seperate room, with very little space for more than cooking. So, as I'm the cook most of the time, I end up spending a lot of time in the kitchen by myself. At the same time, I hate having the kitchen in the livingroom. It is very much not for me. Here we can knock out a wall between the kitchen and a bedroom, and create a kitchen with a sizeable eating area. I'm thinking a kitchen isle where the wall is, with room for some chairs on the, uhm, eating area side of the room. In addition a sizeable dinner table that can also be used on board game nights.

I want a induction cooking top ( we have that now and it's great) on the kitchen isle, and to avoid a big, uhm, kitchen fan above, I'm thinking something like this https://www.ikea.com...svart-50449403/ . The kitchen top itself I want in stone or ceramic, have to check those out. We have a wood top in our current, and I hate having to sand it down and redo the oil once a year or so.

The kitchen room as it is now, is roughly 3x4 m, and the bedroom roughly 5x3

I'll have to check out that combi hob extraction when I'm on the laptop, I don't speak Börk.

I would be skeptical to be honest in its ability to catch it all(steam etc) especially if you're using like a stack steamer or a large pot

A friend of mine has something similar, albeit a different brand, and it works surprisingly well.

This is really infuriating. We still have no clear idea why this has happened. Waiting on a English speaking boss to get here and explain why we have unnecessary work being done. What a massive clusterfuck of miscommunication going on at the cost of likely a few grand. My top has definitely popped.

Perhaps the owner gets extra money from that 'miscommunication' while blaming it on Latino immigrants to encourage people to get out and vote Republican (to get rid of more regulations and lower taxes further...).

Well it's here. You can set your calendar to the change of season each spring. These orange vest motherfuckers have the same stretch of road coned off about 1/4 mile on one of the busiest thoroughfares in the area. What is three lanes, is now one, and traffic is backed up every day. They do this shit every spring; rip up the same stretch of road unnecessarily. Gotta spend those budgeted dollars so they get the same or little bit more next year. Don't you just love how governments are run sometimes?

When we moved in to this house there was a shower in the corner of our bedroom so we ripped it out and used expanding foam to fill in the extractor fan hole and had it plastered over. Something has spent the 7 years since carving a home into the foam. You can hear it at night and it wakes me up. It's getting closer to the inside wall and I imagine one night it's just going to appear inside my bedroom. Logic suggests it's a bird or a bat but when you're awake in the dark listening to scratching inside your bedroom walls you do have to wonder....

I suspect it's that one particular earwig that's determined to crawl into your ear while you're sleeping.

I've seen this movie. It ends badly for the Colonial Marines.

Realized as I was getting ready for be that I’d left the garage door open. I open the door and there’s a possum in there nosing through the trash. Of course I’d scared the little guy, so does he run directly out the door he’s standing in front of out into the safety of the night or rumble further into the garage and try to hide under my table saw?

Yep.

When I finally manage to gr him out , of course he runs over behind the huge pile of cardboard boxes waiting to be recycled.

15 minutes later he’s finally outside.

My cats aren’t very good at security, none of the 3 had a clue he was out there.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.
