So far yes. Just goes to show you why you don’t want to be on the east side of landfall. It’s just barely sprinkling atm and the wind has calmed down compared to prior to landfall but this is likely to change in next few hours. Huge band spiraling up from Gulf I’m not looking forward to going through after dark..

Also I don’t own a telescope but I did bring my binoculars... :p do I get full credit for that or only half?

You got plenty of food, water, batteries for radio, phone etc? Your place not in a floodway or evac zone? Looks like the winds won't be too much of a bother for you out on the western side.

If you're the only one in the house and the kids are OK where they are, I'd say clear your yard, batten down the hatches and snuggle down under a doona on the couch and enjoy the show.

Ooh, hello - looks like it's heading a bit northwest now. Might be a little bit more rain for you before it straightens up northward towards the Ozarks etc. Fingers crossed.

I was able to have a fire tonight. Passing out on ambien just 2 hours before the gust of 35 to 50 mph winds hits. Hopefully a tree don't kill me in my sleep falling through my house. Hoping power stays on till 2:30am so if I manage to wake up all my shows will have recorded and I can watch Mobile Suit Gundam.

Wait... the original and first? You can still watch that?

Woke up this morning and threw up twice. Then did a 10k Race for Life because I still wanted to. On an empty stomach because of the throwing up. Now I'm heading in to work. Which I would call in sick but a) because I've done the run I can't really use it as an excuse and :p I've arranged to meet someone through work that I've been trying to get hold of for months and they've finally agreed to meet so I have to go in.

I regret everything.

That chimichanga was the size of an adolescent hippopotamus and i should not have eaten all of it.,

The only things keeping me awake right now are gravity and potential embarrassment.

I could send you an air mattress. That way you never have to leave work. Think about all the extra time for work you'll have with out the commute.

Waited 9 hours for internet hookup today. No show.

They had a list of excuses but I’m too fuckingvpissed to restate them.

Im think more pissed about the lost day when I’m swamped than the no internet.

After a year of awfulness we are in handover week. This is the worst I've had in years.
First three days were 6am right through to 1am. Today will be a bit less, Friday normal, but they want me to stay the weekend as well.

I've fought weekend work successfully for a quite a while now but given the size of the project and the clients involved I have to be here to make sure it goes over the line smoothly.

Just home and about to shower before crashing (probably literally) into bed.
Decided to log my timesheet for this week so far.
70 hours

Still Friday, Saturday and Sunday to go :p

It tickled 100 degrees Fahrenheit here today (that's 38 Celsius for you weirdos). The car was roasting when I left work. Tonight it's going to be an oven and hard to sleep. Tomorrow forecast is for same or maybe a little bit hotter. I think I'm ready to welcome autumn after experiencing a day like today. Posted Image

Please don't feed the troll.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Switch off your phone, go to bed and have a very big sleep. Then get up, go to the loo, have something to eat and drink, and go back to bed.

There is a goddamned wood pigeon living in a tree right outside my bedroom window. The fuckers never shut up. I can hear it warbling away and I'm having flashbacks to being half woken at 4am and listening to it for 2 1/2 hours until my alarm went off.
