Wow!

I was meant to have boardgames this weekend but my guests got food posioning so it was called off. I had bought some chips and chocolates for the games. So now they were sitting in a packet in my room uneaten. My sister let the dogs in, the door to my room was closed but she didnt double check it and sometimes the door handle does not engage properly. So the dogs pushed the door open and found the chocolate and ate 3 slabs. Didnt know if one ate it all or if they shared it. Now I dont know if it was a potentially dangerous dose or not but the vet said I should bring them in and I would rather be safe than saorry.

However 3 slabs of chocolate just cost me 400 dollars! Hopefully pet insurance will cover a fair bit of it.

Looks like it’s gonna be a good idea to stock up on shit just to be safe. Storm incoming. I hate September.

You should become a prepper! Watch youtubes videos. Fall down the rabbit hole with me!

I have been watching these people. They are ready! For what? For a grid down situation, for an EMP, for a total collapse of civilization, for the zombie apocalypse! They are ready?

You need:

a get home bag
a bug in bag
a bug out bag
a car emergency bag
You will need minimum 2 guns (concealed carry and rifle) and 3 knives (edc blade, big folder and a fixed blade)!

Now I do make fun because some of these people are just over prepared! If you don't have any medical training you probably wont need 3 tourniquets and a chest seal on your person at all times! That said I if I lived in the states with all the public disasters I would def invest in some preparedness.

It's not so much the prepping that bothers me as much as wanting to survive through doomsday. Everything sucks now and you have to endure it...good, I guess? What's the point? Just be dead with everybody else.

When you suffer from psoriasis, and someone you know gets about 5 mosquito bites and won't stop going on about how bad it is to have so much itching. Yeah, must be awful...
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Ooh, I sympathise.

Mosquito bites are a bloody nuiscance.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

A bridge collapsed in my city yesterday.

It was a very busy commuter bridge that carried thousands of vehicles every day. So far we have 1 dead and 20 injured.

I have traveled across that bridge hundreds of times. My best friend commutes across that bridge everyday, as does my SO's sister and father. They were all incredibly lucky not to be on that bridge when it collapsed.

An expert committee had reported that the bridge needed urgent repairs in 2017. The government delayed the work.

That bridge connected a huge southern section with the heart of the city. I don't know what they will do about all the traffic. The delays are going to be nightmarish.

It's pretty much par for the course here. We had another under-construction bridge collapse in 2016. That killed a lot more people. That's what triggered the expert committee investigation of all the city bridges.

Apparently the traffic cops had been complaining about the bridge vibrating regularly. The PWD (Public Works Department) repaired the central span a few years back (it goes over train lines) so at least that part didn't collapse on the local train network. There's a station and platform there. We would have lost hundreds.
But the other spans were not repaired. And now this happens.

Can't you get those metre square absorbant mats that old people stick on their beds, and overlap the tray entrance a bit?

My eldest cat reached 18. They go a little senile; ours started doing awful runny puddings all over the garden, it was like a turd minefield. The kids couldn't play out there any more. It was sad but kind of a relief when she was gone.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Someone deadass saynig to me "You sound like a c*** for using big words" - My instant counter to which was to ask them aren't they writing a novel (which they say they are).

Why would you ever ask an author why they use words? What lunacy is this?

... day she just stopped going fully into the fucking box...just puts her 2 front paws in now and lets loose all over the floor. It's disgusting!!! Hell even our other cat daintly walks around the area that's stained to use the box.

Get a box with much lower sides, use a large plastic box top if you can’t find one. Actually, get two. Three+ if you have more than two cats. Clean the fuck out of the space. Replace the litter boxes entirely with these. Change the litter entirely. Then clean it every day, change entirely weekly or so.

If that doesn’t work, you’re c-s-o-l.

I applied to sublease a coop apartment last month, and have been nervously awaiting news. The board met yesterday to consider my application — and they deferred it!

The former occupant smoked in the apartment, so the owner had it cleaned and repainted. Despite that, the board is saying that there is still an odor of smoke in the floor and it will need to be totally redone.

And now my application will be in limbo — neither approved nor rejected — for at minimum another month.

Infuriating and anxiogenic. I don't care if the move-in date needs to be pushed due to work. I just want Schrodinger's Application to have a confirmed state!

I'm hoping that they will be considering my application this coming Monday. If they don't, I will throw a bus out a window.

I wished a colleague and her husband long life by text. Her husbands grandfather had just died and they were going to the funeral. She apparently has never hard the expression before and seemed to react with anger until I presume someone explained the meaning to her.
