Nice one Amph. Cheering.

Anyhoo I also work in the same hospital - it's not a big place. I'm going with Mez on the cheating suspicions.. If anything like that is going on, it will be someone who's taking an interest in her that is making her feel better about herself, and making her question things. I really hope not though.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Actually, couples counselling sounds like a good idea to look into, Trav. It would show you're willing to work on the situation and put less pressur eon her by looking like you think it's all her fault for being stressed by work.

I stayed up and didn't sleep to finish Oathbringer. Finally went to bed after 3. And my body being crazy, I automatically woke up just like other days at 6.30.

And now my eyes are burning and everything hurts.

That's from reading Oathbringer, not the lack of sleep.

Malcolm Young passed away.

He had been sick for some time. I just didn't realise he was that far gone

I have an interesting weekend coming up, and by that I mean "Oh jeebus, can I hide under the table?"

Briefly: my brother is engaged and his fiancée's parents are probably meeting my dad and stepmom for the first time this coming Sunday. The first in-law meetup can be stressful enough to begin with, but to make it even more interesting her mom is a devout Catholic, and my dad was a lapsed Catholic but converted to Islam when he married my stepmother. Neither one of them is good at keeping their opinions to themselves / knowing what's inappropriate dinner conversation, so I have visuals of her mom and my dad getting into it, all while I wish I hadn't been invited. (Honestly, I don't even know why I need to be there. The only reason I can think of is that I'm pretty good at defusing tension and changing subjects. I hate conflict and family arguments make me very uncomfortable, mind you.)

Though like my brother said to me yesterday...worst case they'll elope. Elvis is waiting in Vegas!

Been there.
Suggestion: flat out tell your dad to rein it in in the interests of family peace.

...then when he fails utterly to do so, you can throw up your hands, throw your bro a commiserating look, say 'i tried', and have more wine.

You should bring up the Crusades, and then just walk away from the table.

You should bring up the Crusades, put a few swords next to the appetisers, and then just walk away from the table.

Agreed. Boggles the mind that people would actually spend money on that series.

First sensible thing I've read/heard today.

Aaanyway, I need a new job. Seriously. Those bastards have just raised my per hour pay but at the same time announced they'll be cutting my hours come January (and instead hiring someone full time to do the work I do in one or two days per week, what the freaking fuck). I. am. so. fucking. fed. up. with. their. nonsense. Though I like my immediaty colleagues, my department head is a bitch. I've only been staying on 'cause it's part-time and pays reasonably well ('cause I've been there for six years now, meaning mandatory raises and stuff) and I don't want to go full-time, 'cause I'm freelancing on the side. But I'm actually almost prepared to look for a full-time job just so I have to never see that bitch's face again.

Trying to sleep sober

Didn't sleep much yesterday, had to wake up earlier and I got incredibly stoned just after school so I went to bed sometime after 10PM, delighted that I'm actually sleepy, then fell asleep quickly.
After I woke up about 6th time from nightmares, feeling like I won't be capable of falling asleep again anytime soon, I checked the clock to see if it's atleast 6am already (I get up at 7), needless to say it was not, it's right now, just past the fucking midnight.
Onto rolling a spliff now...

People also spend a lot of money on the music of Justin Bieber. Popular =/= good. That series heralded a sharp drop in quality from Ole Sandy, given that the first book takes 900 pages to actually start going anywhere, goes somewhere very quickly for 50 pages, and then nosedives off of a cliff immediately after. A book which is at least 85% filler and has no discernible plot cannot be considered to be good. Hell, even 50 Shades has more plot...

I downloaded a sample of Oathbringer last night, actually. I'd read the first two books (beats me as to why, really, as I didn't particularly enjoy the first one...maybe it's the completionist in me) and was curious to see if the third was any good. Not only am I not going to buy it - unless it goes on super duper mega sale, say for less than $3 - I didn't even finish the sample.

Also, thanks to those who gave suggestions for Sunday's possible / probable drama. My brother has asked my dad to keep quiet about religion, but this is a man who almost physically cannot keep his thoughts in his own head, so I'm not holding out much hope. I love my dad, but yeah...he doesn't even know the meaning of the word tact. :p

Who needs swords when you have the divine wraths of opposing deities at your disposal?
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.
