OK... appointment made for Friday. They said the radiologist will talk with me, so I will know right away their findings.

Best wishes for Friday

Lets all take a moment to show our appreciation for breasts and how they work tirelessly to make our lives better:

Someone on my twitter feed has posted a photo of their first ever credit card. The entire front of the card. Numbers, name, expiry date.

They seem to think that people can't use that without the CVV number on the back.

I tried to explain to them that they're wrong but they refuse to listen.

It would be wrong of me to book hotel rooms with their details, wouldn't it? It would only be to show them that I'm right, which is what really matters here. :D

Ah, that sucks for their first experience with credit card. XD well, at least it will be a lesson they'll remember. (Frankly I don't think there's any point in you doing anything,as potentially hilarious as that might be, if it's on Twitter it's going to get hammered pretty hard and fast I'd imagine.)

And, you know, the fact that it's illegal. :p

My father-in-law went to the emergency room earlier today because he was having trouble breathing. He saw a gp earlier in the week who told him he had pneumonia and prescribed some antibiotics. So no one was too concerned (except for me considering how things progressed when my mum had pneumonia ten years ago ie she died three times, was in a coma for a month, and had lifelong complications that ultimately killed her).

Six hours later, he had only had a cursory look over by the ED staff, no scans, no bloods, nothing. (Bloods are standard and should be done as soon as someone is placed in ED, and simply taking the patient's 'my gp says it's pneumonia' as reason to not do a scan is fucking negligent and lazy).

Matador arrived and went into doctor mode and started kicking up a fuss. Bloods get done and come back with some sort of elevated marker. Scans get done. Turns out he has a right lung that is full of fluid and has all the signs of having had a heart attack.

Mat is reigning down brimstone on the ED staff for the gross mismanagement of his dad. The med reg is also extremely pissed since he should have been referred to the case hours ago.

Now they are organising to drain the fluid and do scans to see if there's a possible cancer cause to the fluid or if it's a matter of his heart not being up to the job, as in it's damaged, or if it's a combination of a bad pneumonia and a heart attack.

This hasn't been the easiest week for him or his siblings, first their uncle dies and now this.

Meanwhile, I'm at home feeling completely useless. It doesn't help that I'm having a hard time getting a real indication of what is going on since it went from 'He's at the ED but no one seems concerned' to 'I'm going to the hospital after work' to 'Fucking useless ed staff not doing their fucking job because 'oh it looks medical'' to 'he may have had a heart attack and now we're looking for cancer'. And every call is ending early because another doctor/specialist/someone 'just walked in'. So I'm stressing out because I have no idea what's going on and yet it's still pretty much how things were with my mum before she went into a coma when I was a teenager. So everything just sucks right now.

Shit Loki that sounds bad.

I have been in both situations - running around in the hospital, occasionally phoning home, and sitting at home staring at the phone.
Both suck badly.

I hope everything turns out ok

There's actually a surprising amount of nudity in the Carrington video.

Nothing sends a shiver of fear down my spine quite like a standup comedian who brings out a musical instrument. *shudders*

Except for this one which is still awesome after multiple watches.

What about a musician doing a stand up routine?

That's even worse! The only time music and comedy should mix is when it's Neil Hamburger talking about RHCP.

Just kidding. Obviously there are standups & other comedians who use music well in execution...it's just the prospect that makes me shiver.

I have a suspicion that the itchy weird persistent rash I've had for weeks may be linked to my coffee intake.

So first day without.. this is going to be a tough week.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

You're supposed to drink coffee, not rub the grounds against your skin.

Yeah i tend to avoid rolling around in it too much. Apparently too much caffeine can give you eczma like symptoms though.

If it is I'll probably just put up with it, no way I'm giving it up.

Activated new phone on Tuesday.

Ordered a hard case for it Wednesday night.

Received said case on Friday, less than 48 hours after making the order.

What the hell were the chances of me completely smashing the phone screen in between these two events?

Sigh.

ionno what kind of a glass it has. I had to answer a call on my office phone so I moved my chair back, and my charging cable got caught on the chair, leading to my phone doing a backflip off the desk and landing on the screen.

gonna go try to get it replaced tomorrow (now that I have a case for it), so I'll know what the total damage to my wallet is.
