Finding a replacement screen is a Goddamn mission. It's out of stock most places AND it costs like half the phone :p

After much searching, I ended up finding a place that offered to replace my completely shattered screen with one of their "less broken" ones.

So instead of having a completely destroyed screen, I now have a single crack on my screen. And a free screen protector from a Samsung (because there's no BlackBerry ones, obv).

So I'm 50 bucks poorer for having a less broken screen, a screen protector, a more functional phone (now my eyes don't hurt trying to look at stuff on screen between the cracks), and potentially having made it a less attractive prospect to thieves. Yes, I'm trying hard to find some positives in this clusterfuck of terrible luck.

That sucks so hard.
Although I am quite amazed that you managed to completely smash Gorilla glass 4, the thing is supposed to be near bulletproof.

Yeah, I have GG3, and my phone has taken a few bumps including once down the stairs. Guess when you are out of luck...

And yeah screens are insanely expensive. My brother smashed the screen on his 15000 rupee phone, and the replacement cost 8000 rupees. Literally more than half the cost.

I hope the touch is ok.

physics.

I suspect it could be the fact that my office has those plastic mats that are supposed to prevent chair wheels from damaging the floor.
When dirt and grit gets under them, they'd make the mat not smooth but kinda micro-jaggedy.

When the phone does a backflip and falls flat on the screen, that might be what has caused multiple points of impact.

sigh. basically, lets just call it ultimate bad luck and settle on that

A week and a half ago I registered a soccer team for the winter season. I asked when the game's will start and I was told " last week of January".

Apparently, yesterday I got an e-mail informing me the season starts this Wednesday.

So now I gotta scramble to finalize the team and deal with a bunch of org. BS.

And due to multiple specialist/treatment appointments, I have a crazy busy schedule early on in the week. Not fun.

Gigantic tumbleweed tumbled into my yard today. It did not fit in my dumpster.

Lost my goddamned debit card AGAIN. I've lost a sum total of ZERO my whole life but throw a baby into the mix and I've lost two in about 3 months.

For just $89 you can find out your teloyears! Just visit teloyears dot com for more info.

Wtf they seriously expect people to fall for this scam? What a dumb commercial

Looks like they're just running a qPCR reaction, we can run those for 2-3$ each in our lab. Not to mention your telomere lengths are different in different cell types, so a global average wouldn't be very telling. And it's not like you can do anything with that information anyway. Interesting concept, but for that price tag, definitely not worth it beyond an expensive gimmick.

This kind of shit riles me up.

Putting an animal into a situation vehemently against it's will, and it nearly drowns as a result?

Screw this movie, and screw Lasse Halstrom for letting this go down on his watch...he's been in the industry a long time and should know better.

Pretty sure I saw on io9 or somewhere that they are being majorly fined for this.

I saw a really good comment at one of the sites that reported it that said something like...the poor dog!....if they did this to a cat, it would already be planning Dumas-level revenge on every human involved.

But yeah, I am fully of the mind this film needs to be pulled from the schedule for this major transgression. With this hitting the news, the box office (any it might have had) have already been sunk...so they may as well shelve it and leave it there.

So long as no money gone from account. And if lost you can't spend as much which is fine until you DO need to spend....

If they tried to do that to a cat the entire cast, crew, production team, studio and their extended families would be reduced to thin bloody cole slaw already.

The trainer who tried to do the forcing would still be alive tho'. To suffer. And provide treats.

Hurting animals needlessly is an evil thing, and that includes cats obviously. But a dog loves you unconditionally, and looks to you for safety and protection. Hurting a dog qualifies you for a special kind of hell.

Yes but hurting a cat guarantees it.

They found an aerial bomb from WW2 at a nearby railroad station and are right now evaquating the area and preparing to dig it up and stuff. Problem? I may be stuck on the train for half the night. I mean, I get why the evacuate the area and stop all the trains, but I can feel a migraine come creeping and am inclined to feel sorry for myself.

Any other route to get home? Like a bus or some such?

Nope :( All routes go through that particular station, bus and train. Oh well, at least it looks like things are going according to plan.
