Depressed as fuck. Every Sunday I drop off my boys with their mom I feel a larger piece of my soul ripped out. Physically hurts sometimes,and it isn't getting easier.

Woke up this morning, doing the normal round of exercising/stretches/warmup. My left ankle is stiff as hell. Almost fell over several times doing squats.

But I had no soccer this weekend. And I specifically turned down an offer to go practice yesterday to give it an extra week of no playing to recover better.

WTF, body? Are you telling me I'm getting conditioned to feel sore on Monday mornings no matter what I do?

Also, it's Monday morning, and caffeine not helping.

It's the last day of easter vacation and I finally decided to stop putting it off and write a proper response to the warm and thoughtful letter I received from my former mother-in-law. I received it almost half a year ago and I guess I've been postponing the answer. Until now.

It felt good writing to her, to finish that task, and I think it was a good idea to wait this long. I am less bitter, and certainly a lot less angry than I was. Still, it did bring some stuff back and I don't feel very good right now. Thankfully I have a fancy bottle of wine and, knowing myself fairly well at this point, I bought some excellent fish earlier today and am now cooking what will be a fantastic dinner. While listening to some very nice, though almost a little too experimental jazz. I realise that I am a bit of a stereotype but I embrace that willingly.

Mother fucking home improvement. Fuck this shit it has taken over my life! Four day weekend with three days spent on house stuff. And after finally assembling the nursery furniture (on my own and without fucking instructions) a friend gave us I discover I don't like it and it's a bit shoddy! The only nice bit was a crib but it needs sanding and painting before it is usable and I am fucking fucked if I am sanding and painting a single fucking thing more than the goddamned bits of bastard house that absolutely need sanding and painting. So I'm burning it and get to add guilt for shitting on my friends kind gesture on top of the fuck load of DIY and baby shopping still to be done in the 6 or 7 weeks before the sprog is due to drop.

I am back on call again, which basically means I get paged with other people's problems: miscommunications, lack of knowledge in ordering blood products, etc. I am not expecting to get much sleep this week with all the idiot calls. Add to this my ex overdrawing the joint account and frustrations of just trying to make dinner with all this shit going down. People just need to leave me the fuck alone. Jesus.
