She should attend anyway and at midnight shout "You want fireworks? I'll show you fireworks!" and go *KABOOM*.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

My parents dog Zachy had to be put down today :) Only about 4 years old too, he had some issues from before they got him. Such a lovely gentle dog...

Here he is with my mum and my nephew on the beach near my parents house. He will be missed. I forgot how much the death of a pet can hurt... dang...

I'm sat at home, poorly, too ill to go out for New Year's Eve, girlfriend working and therefore unseeable. I look at facebook, and I see my friends are having a party. Almost all of them. All three couples I was best man for, including the pair who live 250ish miles away and must have come down especially for the occasion, something obviously arranged beforehand. I'd heard nothing of this, nothing at all. Just now, pictures of them at a pub with even more of my friends, some I haven't seen in months.

Now, you'd think being too ill to be able to join them would mean that not even being fucking told it was happening, not a single fucking whisper that a get-together was planned, let alone invited, wouldn't completely fucking suck so incredibly fucking badly. You'd be fucking wrong!
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Why the fuck would anyone think that doesn't suck? Been there, and it's a bad fucking feeling and meant some lost friends.

I ended up finding one text (from my mate's wife, hence me missing it earlier) that mentions going to the pub at 8pm on NYE, that I got last Sunday during a party when I was very very very drunk, so thankfully it's not as bad as I'd thought; however, the text doesn't mention the pair of friends coming down or the party they had before leaving for the pub, which still rankles. I will taken drunken human error over my friends turning into total fucksticks any day of the week though!

E: I would have liked at least a message asking where I was, personally, but oh well! *hurt feelings intensifies*

Because I'm supportive like that ... :)

Nah, I must admit that would suck, although maybe they had some sort of cause to believe either
A. You were busy already, or (more likely)
B. Everyone assumed "someone else" would do it.

Must admit in this day and age of Facebook arrangements I do find the lack of such peculiar.

Next time you see any of them, rage at them. A random text from one person on the know is fucking BS.

Mrs went to hospital earlier with heart palpitations and dizziness. Didn't want me to come up with her. Hope she's OK.

EDIT: it's a throat infection. Nothing serious at least!

Not getting anything in my size. I am 6 ft 4, which is gigantic for a Bengali Indian. I also have a fairly heavy body. And I take size 11 in shoes (indian scale. Not sure how that translates to UK or Canada or US) while the average size here is 7-8. So when I go shopping I am restricted to one particular section of the store with restricted choice and seriosuly inflated prices. I am on the move a lot, and I go through shoes very fast. So this time I wanted to invest in some heavy duty boot type shoes which would be tough yet comfy. I went to the leading store in spite of its high prices and they couldn't even show me one model in size. Not one.

People these days have the greatest capacity in the history of the planet to find things out instantly, but they still don't know who Paul McCartney is. :)

I'm on antibiotics and feeling like shit. Doesn't help when I try to reassure myself the side effects are normal and only finding worse case scenarios of people and their life ruining experiences with the drug. Not looking forward to work on Monday.

If you really want to freak out, get a Physician's Desk Reference and look it up there.

Extremely high fever since the morning, with bouts of violent shivering. I may just have malaria.
