It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

I took Dawkins' "God Delusion" to work to loan to a friend. As it was sitting in my bait bag, a workmates spotted it and began quizzing me on my thought about the book.
Thinking he was fishing for a lend, I said it was one of the "best books I'd ever read".
He then said three things I found extremely hard not to react to (each to their own n all that).

"that dawkins is a bit of an arsehole though eh?"

"seriously though, Monkeys? Come on! Serious?"

"911 was predicted on the bible."

Now as I said, each to their own, and it's not like he was being hostile. If anything he thought it was quite amusing, as if he was talking to a child who believed in the Tooth fairy. Patronising?
Hmmmm.

Was not expecting that in a machine shop factory, in the flat cap wearing north of England. Where organised religion generally consists of a planned meet in the pub to worship the 'Toon Army".

Consider me shocked. And maybe a little bit humbled.

I love that book. It's strange but over the few days I was reading it I had no less than 3 random people on the subway actually ask me about why I was reading it. All 3 were some aspect of devout religious, and were not unkind about it, but they were all pretty set to have nasty thoughts about the book and Dawkins...I asked all three if they'd read it...I don't have to tell you their answer was no.

Have you read "The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution", that one is another fave of mine by Dawkins.

You mean supreme Potentate Dawkins of the new religion, "Extreme Atheism"? Bit of a performer more than anything else tbh but I don't really know where the "911 was predicted in the bible" thing came from...

Theres a series of fairly popular books called the Bible Code and there big selling point is alot of disastersare predicted in the Bible, with a main one being 9/11. Ive never heard any particularly religious people claim 9/11 was in the bible though, its usually the conspiracy nut types

Oh, is it 'We tell you again that atheism isn't a religion, you say you don't like Dawkins and people ragging on your beliefs, we tell you Christians aren't being oppressed damn it and then we all get yelled at for not keeping it in the Religion subforum' time already?
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Yes, it's that time again.

Game 6 of the World Series. What an extra-innings psychic beating that was. I don't know if I have the strength for Game 7.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Terrifying indeed. I'm annoyed because I have a costume party tomorrow, and I'm PLANNING on going as a Creeper (ssssssssssssssssssssss BOOM), but I have yet to acquire the requisite cardboard boxes, and while a few people did volunteer to pick some up for me from their respective places of employment, I honestly do not expect any of them to come through.

It's just nice to see that neither the Yankees nor either of the Sux teams are in the final. Would like to see Cardinals win it, purely cos Texas are in the same league as the Angels, who I am a fan of, so can't really support them...

EDIT, oh and Illy, it's been a while so I thought I would pipe up. But that's not a discussion for here... ;)
