@Stormy - That's unfortunate, mate. Now get on the phone and speak to whoever you have to speak to in order to get a re-sit/substitute test. Don't lose hope just yet. Make sure you cover all avenues first.


EDIT: My mood is messed up by the fact that just 30 minutes ago I was asleep and I dreamt that, whilst trying to lead a psycho-mage serial killer to stand on a trap door that opened up onto an industrial meat mincer, I saw ME3 on the shelf and it was beautiful and pure and lovely and so naturally I bought it and started to play it........ooops.....it occurs to me now that the psycho-mage is still walking around in my mind.......*shrugs* oh well

I WANT ME3!!!!! And I want it NOW! :)

Because I can't wait for someone else to post!

I just went for a walk through the Valley - NEVER AGAIN!!!

I mean, five minutes into my walk and there's a guy peeing his pants at the lights....the same lights that I'm standing at. No worries, I figure as I quickly j-walk across the street at a pace I hope will out match the guy with pee-stained pants.
Next I'm walking past all the $2 peep shows and some toothless hobo asks if I'm new in town.....new to Brisbane - no, new to the cesspit that is the Valley, sadly no also - I should have known better!!!
I went down a street that I'm sure was populated by the same people that like to jab each other with knives 'just for fun' - I, very cunningly and most likely very obviously, grabbed my keys and started evaluating which would cause the most damage if shoved into an attackers eyeball. I swear they were all squaring me up so I did my best 'i'm poor and have no money to steal/I eat babies for breakfast' walk that kinda looked like a cross over of the Hunchback of N.D and Gollum. I finally found my way to another street where a lovely man was sitting inside a doorway with a bottle of cola that smelled remarkably like metho.
Eventually, I located the chemist and sat next to a lady who was sometimes speaking to me, sometimes speaking to herself and sometimes speaking with 'baby jesus.' I was never sure when to make non-committal grunting sounds and ended up sounding like an audio audition for Babe 3.
Having retrieved my script I decided not to return the way I came and headed off again. This time things seemed a little more promising as I found myself on familiar territory and next to a police station - a police station that must have just released all the drunks from the previous night judging by the sour expressions and the vomit covered shirts worn by a few of the people standing by the entrance.
By now I was thirsty so I took a gambit and entered one of the dim-lighted, narrow-spaced, Asain food places and was surprised to find I could barely understand the serving girl through her think GREEK accent.......what tha?
After miming that I wanted a drink by tilting my hand back and forth in front of my face she started to give me strange looks - either she thought her english was better then it was or she too had noticed that my mime for 'drinking' looked a great deal like a mime for a service provided by ladies on a street corner.
With drink in hand I figured it couldn't get much worse and headed back to the safety of Shiara and Luci's place - but no, it did get worse.
One street a way from safety and a 6ft bald man in trucksuits appears around the corner ahead of me and in what I can only assuming is the Valley's customary greeting, he put his hand down his pants and started pumping. Now, I'm normally happy to return a greeting but I decided that, on this occassion, it would be understandable if I didn't. Keys once more in hand I hurried past him and nearly sprinted the remainder of the way home. Now, I'm safely in Shiara's place, brewing tea and about to disinfect my eyes.

I hate the Valley.

Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Yup, Australia sounds like a wonderful place, when you put it like that, Loki. Wonderful place. I mean, you know, what with the incredibly high standard of living everyone has, and the bountiful nature of the country, how could anyone possibly be homeless/drunk/violent/disturbing. >.>

Considering that I am such an upstanding, gracious and respected member of the community it truly amazes me that I seem to be such a magnet for freaks. I suppose they must be drawn to perfection. *sigh* Once again my fundamental awesomeness works against me. :)

Well, at least your day has been interesting so far. I've been doing an assignment (accompanied by that darn headache again, wtf?) for most of the day, interrupted by one trip to go and buy a suitcase, which was uneventful though successful. :S

That's a very eventful afternoon you've had, Loki. Nobody taught you to keep to the 'good' streets?
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. It is in the city centre :) But it is quite nice most of the time, I used ot live just down the road from it, quite enjoy the markets there and the restaurants... I think Loki just went on a crazy day.

Funnily enough it isn't my worst year yet.

I hadn't seen my uncle for some years so we weren't particularly close - it's just finding out via Facebook that really sucks.

I'm a tough little cookie though so I'm sure I can defeat any amount of bad luck just as I defeated the Blight and Collectors :)

A really nice guy I work with, who had some sort of affliction that doesn't allow nutrients from food to stay in the body, passed away on Monday night.

He was just in my office on Friday chatting with me.

This is tough.

Thanks Shiara. I didn't know him all that well, but what I did he was a really nice guy. It's just hard to fathom people being gone.
