What's messing with your groove?

Been looking forward to relocating to a "better" town, but prospects for an affordable flat and a new job look pretty grim. I still have about a month to find something suitable before I miss the proper opportunity window, but I'm losing hope.
And my main reason for this prospect, getting closer to a lass I've been seeing last few weeks... I've got a feeling something went wrong last time we met, but I can't put a finger on it. I've no proper idea how to deal with this, as the situation is in something of a superposition: forcing an observation/opening up and trying to go forward with it will force the situation into one of the possible states... and if it'd be the worse one, something tells me I'd be nothing short of devastated. I've got large hopes for this. For her. I'm kinda feeling like I don't have the guts to push this one way or the other, I've been retreated and closed for far too long, and now I'm kind of afraid of getting slammed when I open up again.
So. The next two months are a total unknown right now for me. It's either going to be moving on to a better life, or devastation and stagnation. No middle ground here.
I think I'm done with bein a free bird. I want to start working on stabilization. Start going places, give myself a chance to utilize my potential. Sure as hell it's not going to happen in this place.
So yeah, I'm a bit bummed right now.

Am in a frenzy of indecision about asking this girl to my school social. She likes me well enough (and I'll worry about whether she says yes or no later) but we haven't been out together yet. Should I ask her to the movies or somesuch or ask her straight off?
And yes, I know this isn't a blog. I could just use a few more opinions.

If she likes ya (or even if you're not sure), just ask her. It's really that simple. Girls like guys who are decisive and confident, so be decisive and confident and everything will fall into place. Besides, the longer you wait, the more nervous you'll get, so get on with it, don't stress and you'll be the better for it. You'll regret it if you don't (or if someone else asks in the meantime - that really sucks

Sound advice. I'll give that a try. Thanks, Mappo.

Everything.
The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

I just got TOTALLY fucked over by flatmates. Turns out they/we are moving out one month ahead of time. Means I have to either accelerate my plans or go over it in a total clusterfuck.
I think I'm gonna shank someone in their sleep.

Good luck dude. Hope you score the job.
In regards to my last post, I asked her-and she said she'd love to go. Unfortunately, she has work the night it's on. Also, she must ask her parents.
So, awaiting a response. Here's hoping.
