Nope, not a doctor. Finished uni, that I did, but unless there's a bigger gap between Dutch/US/Norwegian edu titles, I bet I'm not a doctor .
And yeah, shitty administrative shenanigans apply. At the least in the old fashioned white male 55+ blue collar world I am finding myself in.

The main problem with the project plan is that this time around, it will be read - as it is for a course to get a certificate as project manager - if it was for the real world, I'd do most of that administrative stuff in a few meetings, put the outcome in written form, negotiate once or twice about a paragraph and, as always, the budget, get an autograph for a-okay, and move to the proper project.

I read this quote and its messing with my groove. No one (not even illegals) get turned down for not having insurance (even if its just because they have a runny nose). The only difference is, if you have a job that supplies or can pay for your own insurance, you dont have to pay as much, when you get a bill. But even then you can go a year or longer, without paying a cent, and then if you get sued and taken to court, you can set up 10 bucks a month payments.

Having money or not having money doesnt figure into the equation. I have had 2 kidney stones in a years time and owe lots of money that I am not able to pay. But I still got the care I needed.

Got a call on the way to the airport in Canberra yesterday. It was the property managers for my unit. The neighbours had reported a leak, had I noticed anything? I told them I was away, so they asked could they send a plumber in? I said OK because it was an emergency.

They called back today. A hot water pipe had burst and the unit was flooded. I go back on Friday so I am interested in what arrangements are going to be made to house me. I only have a few things on the floor, and hopefully it was just a case of soaked carpet rather than an inches-deep dousing.

Looks like 2010 is going to be a shit year.

Due to the miniscule amount of snow that has fallen the University of Manchester's lazy c*nts have decided that we all have to leave the buildings by 12.30pm, which, since I don't have the internet at home yet, means I can't get on with my research and lose another valuable day, the fucking pricks.

And when I did manage to get halfway to work they'd decided to stop the trams running...

So I ended up stuck in the city centre...

The University doesn't pay me squat, I pay them and get very little in return the minimum they could do is leave the blasted library accessible, there were plenty of staff there and it wasn't getting any more dangerous for them to stay till tea time, facetious Mezla. The thing is that my deadline is still the same, I couldn't do the work I needed to at home so I lose a day and I work for me, for my benefit, not in a job with a load of people you have variously referred to as 'mindless retards' and 'a total bunch of c*nts'

I hope all of you who had a snow day had a nice day though, my flat is really tidy now at least.

My boss (she's actually my team leader's team leader) did manage to get into work today; mainly because she lives about 600 yards from the office. She didn't sound best pleased that everyone else got to stay at home...

Having eventually, after a bit of shopping, to work out how the hell I was going to get back home from Manchester was not a laugh riot; taxis were, understandably enough, quite thin on the ground. Tomorrow, if the weather remains as inclement, my part of the Civil Service will be using it's "Disaster Plan" which could mean that I end up helping to sign on my neighbours at the Dole Office nearest to me; which sounds like no fun at all.

I hate snow.
