A 6'er of Sam Adams and a knuckle sandwich.

I will also grant that Yuengling is worse than Sam Adams. (Again not saying much. Both cities have much better beers available---there are a bunch of great breweries in Philadelphia: Crime and Punishment, Evil Genius, etc.)

Researching judicial retentions to fill out my ballot for the upcoming election today was a bit of a slog. It's a simple yes/no vote and apparently judges are almost never not retained.

How dare you! Yuengling is a PA mainstay. Iron City Beer also (western PA mostly). And Yuengling is, oh I don't know, only the oldest operating brewing in America (est. 1829), which is probably quaint, cute and laughable to our friends across the Atlantic.

Yeah, it's the scrapple of beers.

Cheap beer of choice for most bars seems to have shifted from Yuengling to Tecate over the last 10 years or so.

The Yuengling family is anti-union and super pro-Trump.

I am not buying any of their beers again. It's pretty easy to find tasty pro-union and pro-sensibility beer makers.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I liked Sam Adam's Summer brew.

Sam Adams summer is solid. I’m still in my 3ish month stretch of enjoying their Octoberfest.

Yeah, I though the regular Sam Adams was just fine, but the Summer Brew was lovely and I had it when I visited Boston at every place that served it on tap.

Sadly they've never brought that particular one to Canada (we get the Octoberfest one) in bottles.

It's like White Claw, but a lot stronger with toxic masculinity as an added perk. Don't know the politics of the biz. I'll have to stalk Facebook and Instagram to see what they are saying there. I'll assume "problematic" is a common descriptor.

In all seriousness, the Black Cherry flavor isn't half bad. The can to buzz ratio is respectable. I've been veering towards the hard seltzer trend recently, cause I'm hip like that. It'll probably run it's course and I'll be back to drinking overly hoppy IPAs with spicy notes and a finish that suggests notes of plum and grapefruit.

The master bartender's trick is to serve it very cold... and hope people have pregamed enough to think it's worth 2-5 dollars (or $5 with a shot to wash it down... 'Citywide Special').

Not sure if the switch started happening before or after Trump's political ascendancy. I do like that it's Mexican.

'Large Salmonella outbreak linked to onions, CDC warns

[...] officials have pinpointed onions as the source — interviews with ill people found that 75% reported eating raw onions or dishes with raw onions before they became sick[...]

The affected onions may have a sticker or packaging with the name of the distributor (ProSource Inc.) and country of origin (Mexico). The CDC urged consumers to throw away any whole red, white or yellow onions that they have at home if the onions do not have a label or packaging indicating their source.'

Damn, I ate a few raw onions today with my Georgian delivery (onions and pickled herring)... oh well. Guess I'll probably know by tomorrow.

My mom has stage 3 pancreatic cancer. They’ve given her a year to live.

I’m a fucking wreck. I don’t want my mom to die. :(

I'm sorry. I wish this wasn't so and I'm sorry about everything coming towards you in the next year.

I wish you lots of time and sharing love with her.

QT that is awful news. I'll agree with those who've said that I hope your time with her in the coming months is precious and wonderful.

Damn QT, that's rough. I hope that you will be able to spend some quality time together in the next months and form some more nice memories at least. There is really nothing nice or uplifting to say, just that things will get better again even though it doesn't always seem that way.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.
