My son's head daycare teacher (who was once my daughters as well) is Korean-Canadian and was walking to work today with her husband and son, and some old white lady screamed obscenities at them for "not wearing masks" "endangering people" ect. I guess because they're Asian? And then she SPAT at them.

I am going to need everyone to keep their racist cow grannies out the street please.

Fucking terrible. I wish I could have been there. I'd have put that old bitch's racist ass on YouTube.

Trump is normalising and fueling racist feelings. Same is happening here in the UK under the Brexit government. Poor information provision, people start to make up their own stories and theories. Plus a depressing number of people have no brain cells.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Yeah there was a Chinese student got assaulted on West Street for wearing a mask recently. Unfortunately the world is lurching hard to the right and behaving like this to 'the other' is being normalised by having racist politicians in charge.

Both my father and a family acquaintance have been told to "go back where they came from" in the past few weeks, by random people on the street. The family acquaintance is a young girl, a student who came to Canada in December, and she is terrified of dogs. The man who harassed her (in Downtown Vancouver, no less) had a large dog with him and he used it to terrify her.

My father, being who he is, came home and told me "a funny story about what happened today".

I honestly don't know what can be done about the situation right now. I used to believe the problem was the older generation and would go away when they died; but by all indications young people are as bad as old people. I don't if it's possible to change people's mind about these things.

When did that happen? I mean I know West Street has never been a bastion of civilisation, but still :(

That incessant queefgoblin known as De Pfeffel.

PMQs was on in the canteen and I have never heard such disprovable bullshit in my life.

Worse still was someone said 'will you invest in transport for the north' and his reply equated to 'fuck you'.

All my clothes from South Africa seem to say no tumble drying. Not that I have the option. Everyone told me a cold wash and tumble dry will be fine. When I was staying at my cousins I could stop the drier before they were bone dry and tried air drying the last moisture but my new place has no laundry machine and no rack so I have been going to the laundromat and using the dryer.

My shirts have been badly effected. The sleeves are shorter and leave quite a gap and one shirt is now to short at the waist to wear.

In South Africa you like dry everything in the garden. Don’t know if us clothes are more preshrunk or what have you but is is not good

Ironing resizes stuff that has shrunk in the dryer. And apparently if you soak stuff in a sink with warm water and fabric conditioner that will also resize stuff. Google it - there will be tips, I know because I get targeted videos about this shit on Facebook because my life is so mundane now. That and incontinence wear.

Yeah that’s another thing, we iron things in South Africa! No one I have spoken to hear owns an iron! They dry clean everything instead!

Well at least the laundromat will be a good place to read about lesbian space necromancers!

BlackBerry is apparently going out of business.

I now need to buy a backup phone before August.

Wait, you're the guy? The guy with a blackberry? I figured it would have to be some hermit living in a cave or something. A failed finance guy whom retreated to the mountains decades ago.

Indeed. In fact I assumed the last person to use a Blackberry passed away in 2008.

Nah. My masters were still handing them out til early this year. A few people i work with still have them. The security features took a while to replace.

The last models were actually pretty good, solid interface, could run many android apps. The string attaching the cans was a bit annoying tho'.

Rushing for the subway. Phone slips out of jacket chest pocket and goes skidding in front of me- towards the tracks.

The world slows down as I'm imagining it drop into the opening betweeen the platform and and the subway car pulling into the station. All the hassle I'll need to go through if it gets crushed by it.

Then, as the phone's slowing down, but inching ever closer to that gap, I drop down on my knee and reach out to grab it.

Crisis averted. Get on the train, sit down, and then I notice the pain in the knee.

Look down, and sure enough, I ripped my work dress pants. Not quite as expensive as a 400 dollar phone, but not great look on a client day.

Y'all realize that a modern Blackberry is just an Android phone with a proper keyboard, right?
