A dropped catch.
A missed run out.
A wasted DRS review.
And an umpire who should've gone to Specsavers (a series sponsor).

Its my last week at work. No one cares. I don't mean in a personal sense, I mean in a work sense.

The entire team that was working on my project left (one to Australia, one to usa about 3 months ago), I leave in a weak, and one is on maternity leave. So they decided to end the project rather than renew. I guess that makes sense. Still I have worked here for two years, in those two years I was left to work independently, too independently I think. I worked I got stuff done but never really had one one-on-one progress meeting with my boss. Now I'm leaving, packing all my stuff up in freezers, leaving my notes and I just feel like they will go and sit in storage.

Its like two years of work meant nothing in the end. I feel quite de-motivated/despondent by it

My country is sometimes called the protest capital of the world! We have literally thousands of protests and strikes a year. People want a library, so they will burn down a police station. They want better roads, so they will burn down a school.

Still when I watch the Hong Kong and paris riots I realise that my country doesn't know what its doing. Either in rioting or in policing it. I watch videos of all these people running around in gas masks and knocking back tear gas with badmington bats and facing off against riot police with their own phalanx of clubs etc.

I'm kind of both disappointed in my countries protesters and pleased they are so half arsed about it.

Didn't know where else to share this random thought but these protests are insanse.

The protesters in Hong Kong are doing some next level shit. I guess when you are under high tech surveillance, you have to be.

Dorian still a long way away but I got my eye on that bitch. Worried it's going into Sept hurricane crack Gulf waters after FL landfall which ain't gonna shred it entirely if it's a through and through at cat 4

Just saw the latest update at 11am and that scenario seems less likely, though the bottom line always is they really have no clue on landfall this far out. The only "good" news for us (and I do hesitate saying that as my good news is likely someone else's bad) on the southwest coast of FL is that no matter where landfall happens, the storm will weaken over land before potentially coming to us.

Are y'all getting prepared? Food, water and gas! Or book a room in Alabama or Georgia. If so do that tonight because I'm sure rooms are going fast.

Luck to yall

Not going overboard for this one as all indications are the worst we would get is Cat 1 or tropical storm force by the time it made it to the west coast of FL. Although there was pretty good panic running through a lot of people yesterday and the day before. The predictions this morning have it actually running up the east coast of FL and not even making real landfall there. Now the Georgia coast and the Carolinas have to look out. It does bear watching still. These things have been known to wobble at the last minute. I'd be much more concerned if it was in the gulf and coming east towards the west coast of the state.

You don't know me Puck, but I've read enough of your posts on this board to know you're a good person and you'll get through this.

Thank you both :hugs:

I wouldn't say talking to the people I usually know I can talk to about this would seem me look like a bad person rather than like an thankless and graceless one, when I'm actually very thankful for their support. And I don't want to talk about it online because someone I know might come across it, but I'm really glad this forum exists. It might sound silly, but the last time I was feeling this bad, the forum was a huge help.

Anyway, doing a bit better today, we shall see.

When the Caribbean food truck dude preparing your roti asks you how spicy you want it,
never, ever, ever, ever, ever. ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever. ever, ever, ever,
ever, ever, ever, ever. ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever. ever, ever, ever, say "surprise me".

Just don't.

If anyone needs me, i'll be in a washroom stall, drinking six litres of milk, rocking myself back and forth, and weeping softly.

To be fair, it WAS a really great roti, with plantain and slaw and a ginger beer just an awesome meal.
I'm sure tonight's cleaning crew and anyone who wanted to buy milk from the snack place will take great comfort in that.

Love is a burning thing
And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire
I fell in to a ring of fire

I fell into a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire
The ring of fire
I fell into a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire
The ring of fire

The taste of love is sweet
When hearts like ours meet
I fell for you like a child
Oh, but the fire went wild

I fell in to a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire
The ring of fire
I fell into a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire
The ring of fire

And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire
The ring of fire
The ring of fire
The ring of fire
The ring of fire
The ring...

(Huh, works just as well for Frodo and Gollum in Mount Doom ...)

Those pictures inside the eye of Cat 5 Dorian in Bahamas. Phew. Sunny blue sky.

30 dead so far. No clue how this is this low of a count. I was expecting much more than that.

I think, sadly, it's just a matter of the wreckage and lack of time, so 30 is just the officially confirmed number so far. Posted Image

I'm 32 and have been colour blind since birth. My mother still refuses to believe me when I explain what I can and can't see. That red-green colour kindness is not a proper diagnosis and that I struggle with colours beyond red and green
