Breaking up with Mr Not a Blacksmith. It's the right decision but it's never a fun thing to do. And long distance makes it awkward because it's not right to do it over message but then at the same time you can't ask to meet up without some sort of "we need to talk" warning either.

Apparently, the Empire was right. I need to date a blacksmith :apt2:

Sorry to hear this and we’ll wishes but.....

Hmm well good news the blacksmith community is very very male dominated.

I would suggest you check out for your local open forges!

Since I am totally jealous that you live over there I would check out a class here..http://owenbush.co.uk/

But more so I bet if you reach out to Owen, who’s awesome, he would totally know great local open forges that you could learn this craft too on your side of the world. This community has an amazing amount of support in England.

Sidebar*
He has a forge in on May 18–20th too!! Looks like some big names will be there in that world.

Side bar 2:Wasn’t sure if you we being facetious, but it’s really a fun craft !
-If it's ka it'll come like a wind, and your plans will stand before it no more than a barn before a cyclone

Haha, I was running with the initial joke on here, but I do think it would be a fun thing to learn - I'll have a nosy at Owen's site. Thank you :apt2:

Loads of local council ballots in my area being spoiled with "traytorse" "breakfast means breakfast" and other political slogans of the generally thick. The fact independent (mostly hard right bumpstocks means Birkenhead types) candidates won some seats is worrying.

Interestingly Lib Dems, the only actively anti-Breakfast mainstream party (sadly let down by being traitorous asshats circa 2010 and pro-austerity) have made big gains.

Argh. Sitting here waiting for a colleague to tell the rest of our team that she is retiring. I can't concentrate. Shit is gonna hit the fan because she's a total legend in the business. I'm gutted, she's been a proper mentor to me since I changed industries and started this job. I've never had anyone take me under their wing properly before and it's been lovely. She's one of those proper battleaxe old lady types where if she likes you, you are sorted but if she doesn't she will totally destroy you! I shadowed her in the job early on and I just sat there watching her wrangle clients and think "I'm never going to be able to do this so well" but she taught me and now I'm going to take on most of her responsibilities! Shiiiiit. I'll be a bit lost without her :apt2: And she gives me great gardening advice!

Worst thing is that at some point I'm going to have to stand up and say something at a retirement event and I'll end up crying which I absolutely loathe in front of work colleagues.

No shit. Hell my phone alerted about this last night. I think it was cat 5?

Not sure about the American categories, but it made landfall with 200 km winds. And so far 8 people are dead.

Good to hear buddy. Has the death toll climbed any higher? :apt2:

Apt id love to honestly if my legs would cooperate during the day.

The death toll is a lot less than what had been feared. Here are some reports

Glad you're OK Ando.

Looks like the Cyclone prep and evacuation work paid off. Well done.

Now we'll see what the rain does to Bangladesh. Hopefully nowhere near as bad as usual.

Ando: Glad you're all good. What country are you from? I'm guessing India, Pakistan, or Sri Lanka. However, I'm not willing to go further than those three as it's pretty much guaranteed to cause offence :apt2: (you guys make our feud with Australia seem quite lame)

In the great J2's world... possibly TMI.
Spoiler

Apologies for the rant, but I needed to vent.

Also, a slight conversation necro, but blacksmiths are awesome. That is all.

I am from India. (no offence taken at all)

Australian feud means, you are from New Zealand?
Also rant away. That's what the thread is for.

You can't just have a personal talk with your parents about needing your own space without being kicked out of the family business? That sounds severe. Are you perchance running a Chinese restaurant?
