Tipps on how to evade someone like this you might run into on a somewhat regular basis are appreciated.

Pepper spray.

Alternately, I may know a guy. Who knows a lady. Who knows some guys.

...they work at a law firm and draft restraining orders, you sick fucks. What kind of monster do you take me for?

One of those with deathrays for eyes and a tendency to laugh uncontrollably at kitten dissection videos.

Oh sorry, that was rhetorical?

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Anyone who doesn’t see the humour in watching kittens dissect their victims is cold and dead inside.

Not a very common reaction to dissections, but fair enough, we live in a free world.

Left at 1am - got to airport, checked in, no queue, went for early breakfast.

Then noticed the board change - our 6.30am flight is now 'estimated 12.15.'

Instantly trapped in an airport for 6 hours, oh my feckin god this will be fun...!

(And yes, 'estimated'. Update at 11.15. Kids were already twitchy at 7.)

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Finally have concrete proof I’ve been kept in the dark about the Ex. She has stayed an xtra 2 weeks locked up cause they had no beds at the rehab center she was going to. My daughter told me today that the stepdad told her earlier that she is being released at 8 am tomorrow and he is then bringing her to rehab but he said not to tell me. She told me anyway cause even at 14 yrs old she knows that I need to know these things and it was stupid not telling me. Now I gotta keep quiet about knowing. Feels like middle school.

I'm glad your daughter told you. I hope both kids are doing well and that you're able to be there for them in a way that leaves them feeling safe and secure.

And the step-dad is a jerk for asking that this be kept a secret. This isn't an extra scoop of ice cream that doesn't matter.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Never mind, after nearly a month of no rain and clear skies, large chunks of the UK were hit with thunderstorms last night, so we never saw it either.

Internet's not working at work for the second day in a row. Everyone's done what they could without being to access the server since we're not supposed to store files locally and is now sitting around trying to look busy while everyone also knows that nobody can do anything useful.

At that point isn't it just better to send everyone home? I mean there isn't much you can do unless you want to start sweeping up

Technically, yes. I guess they're hoping it'll be back up soon-ish and nobody offers to go home because nobody wants to have to work late when the internet is back.

I just wish I'd listened to my gut instinct this morning and stayed home. It's so hooooot.
