I tripped on a shoe and crashed into a dog safety gate that shattered and has resulted in an odd ugly mass of bruising all over my left arm.

I'm sorry that this happened but at the same time I kind of want to see any video footage of this...

The price of lumber in this country is ridiculous right now.
And it all starts with Trumps tariff on soft lumber from Canada. Not the only factor, (destroyed forests, natural disaster rebuilds) but the big one.
I gave out 2 proposals 6 months ago to build new homes. I"ve now had to readjust those by thousands of dollars because a sheet of osb that used to be $8 is now $17. Subfloor panels that were 23 are now 35, etc, etc.

I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Tinnitus ! (One ear)
Has anyone ever had this?? I think* it started two weeks ago .. went to a blacksmithing class. I’m fairly certain I used earplugs as I’m normally careful around the powerhammer/tools ...But.. obviously I didn’t at some point.
This is far as a I can track it in terms of really loud stuff. Last week bought some otc stuff .. nothing helped.
(Going to a doc wensday.. but omg! Don’t let yourself have this.. so annoying and definitely got worse over night. It’s quite loud today! I can’t decide if louder or more realized this is really here)

What's really fun about rising prices due to tariffs is the final result of it.
Prices rise because of tariffs => inflation rises => central bank has to increase interest rates => investors have less incentive to invest => economy cools down => unemployment rises: everything is more expensive and people have less money.
That's obviously really simplified and not gospel at all, but I find it fascinating how much damage a senile old man can do to the gigantic economy of the US by doing the most innocuous-looking shit.

If it's full on tinitus Nico it's there for good, and expect it to become part of your life with increasing frequency.
If if it's just a hold over from. Recent loud noise it should go away quickly.
I've had it for several years now, thankfully not loud enough to keep me up at night but it's frustrating

My student who I give extra lessons to is obviously not doing any self study when I am not with her. She is studying by correspondence. I just told her that 1 hour a week with me is not enough. She needs to do exercises and read the text book.
I hate when this happens. If they fail I look bad.

Went to doctors cleaned out my ears! I can hear.. but still ringing. Not nearly as bad, it was a roar, now just a very very high pitch ring. Distracting, but workable.
I got a referral to a ENT and some meds to see if it helps. Hopefully I wake up with it gone in the next week.
(I bought a few pairs of noise protection earmuffs for my shop and a ton of earplugs.)

I swear this type of bureaucratic shit just drives me insane
I deliver whole bunch of documents as per protocol and as per previous telephone conversation.
Director of the department starts talking about how I should have followed an entirely different set of protocols which were never communicated.
I point this out. He replies, "Or you could have emailed"
I point out how they are the ones who insist on physical copies. He looks uneasy and says to just email them in the future.
Then he tells me "You should have phoned that you were coming"
I say I did. He says that none of his departmental colleagues told him...
So basically I could have just emailed and saved myself an hour long trip... sigh... communication is clearly too much to ask for.
