You also might just have been extremely lucky in the prices of things. But unless all those 10, 20,and 50 cent coins I had to count at the bank were all an elaborate ruse, I am thinking rose-tinted glasses could well be in play.
Though it would be excellent if we did go that far. I hate change, and I am not fond of unrounded prices. Here in Australia they still have stupid 5c coins - and their 20c and 50c are HUGE. At least in NZ those coins were reissued to be really light weight and low profile.
Then again, Brisbane doesn't have stupid daylight saving time... So ups and downs. XD

I crashed
Because I'm an utter dick.
Was driving down a snowy road with a friend in another car who drove before us, his driver was pretty experienced and had a rear wheel drive and he drifted every second turn. Since I was learning to drift with handbrake on an empty parking lot the day prior I took some of the slower turns by drift as well, knowing well that I can't do that if going faster than what 2nd gear can take. Well at one turn I, for some reason, drifted while going like 35-40 kph, didn't manage it and crashed right into concrete blocks connected by metal rope. They fucking saved me. By the time I connected with them I must have been going way slower because it was actually a tiny hit. I had two friends with me in car and everyone is completely okay, we agreed it felt like we hit just a speed bump.
Well my car is fucked though. Bodywork on front and around right front wheel is in pieces. Oil tank and intercooler both need to be replaced. Despite how it looked the right front wheel seems to be in its' place though and so does the engine and chassis only seems to have cosmetic damage. Luckily I still had insurance until the end of this month, otherwise I prolly couldn't even afford the repairs even with my fund that my parents been saving for me.
Don't really give a shit about the money I have to pay now, it's not like I was particularly wealthy and it will still cost pretty much all of my savings but hey it's 100% my fault and I'm just happy that nothing happened to my passengers. I still feel sorry for the car itself since it's been part of the family for years and my mom grew to really like it and so did I so hopefully everything is repairable.
We're lucky that the concrete blocks did their job to minimise impact and that the rope just barely caught us from going into the ditch and trees.
Parents took it okay, I obviously didn't tell them I attempted to drift thought the turn but I refused any money they might want to ease my expenses with.
Utter dick. But lesson learnt.

Thanks, it was, though I'm still astonished how smoothly the blocks stopped us. Actually the guy before us slid there as well but managed to get back on track thanks to his rear wheel drive. Dad of one of the friends I had with me died in a car crash so now we're just hoping his mother doesn't find out, she wouldn't take it very well. I wonder how reading this must feel to those of you who have kids.

You forgot suicidal, stupid, a bad friend to your passengers, and should not be driving on any road travelled by anyone else ever.

Jesus christ have you never driven on a winter road before? You need to seriously reconsider your approach to driving, not just on snow but in general.

What they said.
Save drifting and handbraking for tracks, maybe empty car parks. Not on a public road. And especially not with passengers in.

Flowers. Lots of them. Stat. Today, not tomorrow, so she can "enjoy them all day" and you don't get gouged as badly.
Two cards. For tomorrow. One cheesy. One romantic.
Alcohol.
Favorite movie. Hers, not yours.
Go.
You're welcome.

The cold is making my elbow (previously dislocated) act up. Not a major pain, just an annoying discomfort. And a reminder I need to keep exercising it regularly and can't be slacking off.
Sigh, getting older sucks.

Because of Bronies and other adult fans, I thought MLP was gonna be kid-friendly but essentially all ages, in the vein of like Powerpuff Girls or Gravity Falls. I saw an episode a month or two ago though and it is really, really, emphatically a show aimed at like the pre-K set. It's like Peppa level, maybe slightly older but only a few years. I'm not dissing any of that, or anyone, but it was very shocking.

Prince Henrik, Queen Margrete's Husband has died. Though he could be an ass, I'm surprisingly sad he died.

I just heard some news that has my blood boiling. My ex wife and her sister were pregnant at the same time for our 1st kid. Sister got knocked up from a one night college stand and I never thought highly of the guy from the 6 or 7 times I met him during pregnancy and right after birth of my niece. Sister moved in with us at my folks house during early pregnancy and then I had her move in with us after we bought our house. Pretty sure my neighbors down the road thought I was a polygamist having two ready to pop women waddling around. Anyway... 14 yrs later the sister had split custody and I just heard that daddy dearest and niece where up in the attic and he told her to move a box. When she was doing this he palmed her upside the head and knocked her out cold. When she woke up she was confused and began to scream so he grabbed her and covered her mouth and told her to keep that to herself. Well she didn’t.. no more split custody and an investigation is going on for his other 3 kids he has with his wife.
Ed still charged up. Fuck that piece of shit. I want to palm him upside his head with a bat.

What? He just smacked his kid on the back of the head while she was carrying a box? I really want to ask why on earth he would do that but some crazy doesn't need to be explained just punished. I hope it ends well for your family and soon. These things can have a tendency to drag on.

She devoured my pineapple and blueberry king cakes. The pieces she carved out of them were cringe inducing all 4 times. Now I have to wait an entire year till I can get more. My own damn fault.
If your family will turn up and do whatever the hell they feel like without asking first you have more to worry about than king cake.
Assert a little possessiveness like it was you who worked for the money to buy the cake and you who took the time and effort to find and buy it and who had resisted the temptation to stuff it all in your mouth in one go. Or, you know, just tell her to get lost and never come over again. Sure she'll be bitter and spiteful but you'll not have to put up with someone you detest imposing themselves.
I'm not even going to try and figure out what king cakes are that you can't buy them any other time or make them yourself - I'm still traumatised by the biscuit and gravy affair.
