What's messing with your groove?

Yep, mine are definitely associated with sleep deprivation and are often accompanied with auditory or visual hallucination (which can be really creepy I must say). But yeah, I guess it is fairly common phenomenon. Can't imagine having to experience it every night though.

Sleep paralysis is horrible.
Most people have no idea what I'm talking about when Im describing it.
I usually get it as an accompanyment to the horrors, so it's lying in bed, fucking unable to move.
While the bed spins
And there's a man. Or a monkey. or a boogie monster. Standing in the room with a knife.
Fuck I'm queasy just thinking about the last run I had through it.
What's messing with my groove?
I don't know. Well some things in life are going grand. All is well.
But there's other parts of life I just can't figure out in the fucking slightest. I think things are heading in the direction they should be or I want them to be then it's just a dead stop and I'm left totally fucking baffled why. Then my head will go down and I'll start to live in my head over thinking everything and lie in bed at night completely unable to sleep.
I'll probably go to the pub to watch the match tomorrow. And Macros drinking when he's in this kind of a dump mode generally ends in a mess. (Last time my head was screwy we had wonderful drunk threads to enjoy, better than macros ringing people he shouldn't at 3am)

I know what you mean. This time I woke up on my back in the water in one of those giant sewer tunnels they have under New York in movies etc. And there's rubbish and rats and I'm slowly sinking and this giant black apparition that's vaguely man shaped is slowly walking towards me and I can't move or do anything.
Even after the waking dream part ends I still can't move my limbs but I can finally talk so I end up yelling at my partner to wake up and he then physically shakes my limbs to fix them and then they are back to normal.
Some nights it's just the paralysis, those are the good nights. Tonight was a moderately bad one. Bad nights are BAD.
Whenever I'm in a bout of like this I get so anxious about sleeping which creates a cycle because anxiety increases the likelihood and severity of the episodes.
It's like you just can't fucking win at times.

You know when you wake up and you've been sleeping at a funny angle and your arm or leg is asleep. And it's just non reactive.
It's kind of like that, but all your limbs are asleep, only your brain is awake, sometimes the eyes are open, sometimes not.
It's just frustrating sometimes. But usually it gives your mind times to play tricks on you.
Like when you hear a creak in the night, and you know it's nothing, but if you want you can get up and look. Or bury yourself in the blankets a little deeper. When your body is still asleep you can't check. You cants roll over, so the shadow in the corner, which you know is is really a dressing gown, if you could but shift your head to see it clearly and thus dispell all chances of it being a murderer. You mind has fun times and it's definitely a murderer.the second you can finally move you tilt your head and, god damnit, dressing gown all along!

I had it happen once in college. I was having a pretty normal dream and then as I was walking past a billboard I heard Satan's voice address me, and the billboard flipped to saying 666 like one of those alarm clocks with the numbers painted on tiles.

Then I woke up totally frozen, half-conscious, and afraid for my soul.

The last one I had I woke up to a creepy throaty low pitch voice and had this overwhelming feeling of threat and horror. Goes without saying that I wasntable to move or speak. My partner was across the room sitting behind a computer. I couldnt actually see him (coz i couldnt open my eyes), but I could sense he was there and I could hear the clattering of the keyboard and the music. I tried to wake myself up, but couldnt. So I just started shouting at him in my mindto come and wake me up. And he did 😊.
But usually the sleep paralysis is accompanied with some skeleton thing lying on top of me.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. I'm shopping around for a new PC and I'm getting annoyed. My budget isn't huge but I want something that's at least a bit better than what I have now - my PC is 7 years old, so you would think this would be easy - except there's always a catch. Most of the time it's because the processor speed is ridiculously slow; one bundle was half the speed of what I have now. Half! It had the same 1TB hard drive space as my current build and twice the RAM, but what good is that if the processor is 1.6Ghz?
I'm thinking I might be better off just buying more RAM for my current computer, because I currently only have 4MB, but I'm afraid of getting the wrong kind or otherwise messing something up. I do know how to open towers and take basic things apart (e.g. removing a hard drive) but I've never actually upgraded a computer myself.
First world problems, I know, but still. Why is it so difficult to find a computer with a decent hard drive, RAM and a processor speed that makes sense?

I'm not sure how worth it would be with a low budget but have you considered building it? Here some of the eshops have handy tools for that purpose and some even offer the to do the assembling for free.
There are people around here who know this stuff well, feel free to create a thread and ask if you have any questions I say, someone even created a PC building help thread recently I think.

Have you tried Tiger Direct? They do a bunch of different builds tailored to fit different needs, and barring that can even build you one that fits your needs. I find their prices are better for what they are offering you as specific parts of there bundle too.

Echoing the others. There's a lot of tech minded people on here. And there's plenty of companies that will let you spec a computer component by component (possibly pushing the cost up over a generic off the shelf bundle)
ETA I know Dell let you build what you want but I have no idea where they are in regards to cost or quality these days

I liked the message it gives to kids about emotions, especially how there are no 'bad' emotions, but I actually found the movie pretty boring. Basically, I like the movie as a parent but don't really enjoy watching it myself.
But then, I laughed so hard at the end of the Mist that I almost induced an asthma attack so I'm pretty sure I have no soul...
