Condolences Maark.

I've got a sore on my thumb from too much Rumba strumming. That shit is nasty man.

Like I say, I'm not surprised. I was fully prepared for it to be the outcome.

Dang, the chef I had a strong connection with and a great date on Tuesday decided to ghost me two days ago. No idea what caused it. We were talking and then suddenly we weren't.

She absolutely can change her mind and drop me like a hot potato, but I do wish she'd told me. This isn't the worst thing in the world, but going from a week of nearly non stop texting each other to nothing is a hell of a transition and stings a bit.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Out of interest - just how many of us on here have pets named for the books? :D

Absolutely! A reference is a reference, however tenuous

Yes.
Though probably not as much thumping as strumming at this point. But it's also grazey, slicey, hurt burn on the thumb too.
I've got 6 weeks before I go to Spain. I want that shit down before I go.

I don't listen to that sort of music at all but the dexterity it needs is pretty impressive. Musicians' scars are always the most interesting anyway.

My 9 year old German Shepherd may be on her way out. She had an injury when she was about 3 that needed surgery on her hip and now she has aggravated something to the point where she won't put her weight on both legs evenly and she's having a really tough time walking, using the bathroom, and she has taken to sitting to eat and drink. This sucks. She's already on an anti inflammatory medication. Guess it's time for x-rays to see if there's damage and hope for the best. Just not ready for this.

God damn, it's as if my boy has gone back to being an infant again with his poo production.

The Mrs has started giving him some sort of chocolate-flavoured (is there any other flavour?) probiotic yoghurt pills for his "inner health". Well, they're having one hell of an effect on his digestion and ... aftermath.

It's like his arse isn't connected to him at all. Instead it's a portal to some sort of shit dimension.

How did the human race ever managed to survive this long without probiotics?! My boy produces things that really look too big to have even been inside him - maybe the portal theory is right! It's like an invasion by The Great Old Brown Ones.

Sorry to hear this. Losing pets is rough, as they really are family members. Just be with her as much as you can, and give her plenty of love.

My "for work" laptop is refusing to acknowledge my router. But my desktop PC, standing next to it, has Internet just fine.
This means I gotta use the desktop to do research, while typing stuff up on the laptop (which is what I'll be using for work tomorrow). I'm slightly annoyed by that.

Went to bed feeling fine. Woke up at 5:30am with a full-blown headcold.

My throat is killing me.

Somehow, I am convinced it is BK's fault.

I just coughed up about a cup worth of yellow phlegm and two cups worth of water-like fluid.

It was so gross that I felt the need to share.

HDD at my lab crashed. Apparently I am the best person at my school to fix this. Even over the tech guy, which scares me a little. Since in 5 minutes I worked out the HDD is in perfect health, the size of the hdd is different to the size on the label which led me to realize that the hdd was partitioned and one of the partitions has suddenly for unknown reasons become unallocated. I have a chance to recover the data by simply reallocating the drive space. That said I dont really know what I am doing and am nervous to give it a shot!

I don't know much about this, so take whatever I say with a pinch of salt, but doesn't redrawing partitions mean a format of the disk and hence dataloss?
