Thanks all. It's been difficult today. I don't usually touch Carlsberg.

I'll manage. To be honest after we saw him post-anaesthetic we were preparing for this.

The vet called half an hour ago and said it was a heart attack. He'd been on a lot of meds for renal failure and whatnot. I'll ask after the lab results when I speak to them. I don't think there was anything we could have done but I need to know.

At least it was peaceful.

I'm so sorry to hear that Maark. You gave him a loving home and a good life that he might not have enjoyed otherwise though - it's not much in the way of consolation right now, but it is something to think about later.

They found explosives on a Ambulance inside the stadium..To me this is one of my biggest fears. A truck bomb hidden on a soft target...

BREAKING: Reports that German police have discovered a truck bomb disguised as an ambulance near football stadium in Hanover. #GERNED

Qt I just saw your bad news. My wife and I had that happen too. We now have a beautiful 18 month old. It will still happen for you, just in a different schedule.

Sorry to hear about your pet Maark, never easy.

Sad (and kinda shocking) to see my facebook timeline flooded with the news that All Black legend Jonah Lomu has passed away aged only 40!! To see him when he burst on to the international rugby scene was a sight to behold.

Just read the news about Jonah Lomu. Even with his kidney disorder I always thought he was indestructible. A real gentleman off the field too, a favourite with the kids wherever he went. :(

I'll always remember THAT try where he used Mike Catt as a doormat. :D

EDIT:
And here it is:

Basically your teeth will always hurt a bit after any dental work (other than cleaning....unless your gums were bad and bled)...remember that it's trauma when they get rid of cavities ect. and a bunch of your enamel was just drilled away. Your dentist should always tell you if and when there will be pain. Mine alwasy does.

That said, if the pain continues for more than like a week, go back in.

I remember when had a tooth pulled. It didn't hurt then because of the anaesthetic, but feeling the tooth move in your skull as the dentist wrenches it out is really creepy.

I hate people who put Read Receipts on emails. Why don't they just put text at the bottom of the message that says "I don't trust you to read and appropriately respond to this email as soon as is possible and/or convenient"?

That marks you out as one of "them". Now you're on the list. The time stamp on the Sent Mail does the same job.

As the GM ignition switch story unfolded it looked as if the senior engineer that signed off on the changes to the switch without changing the part number was being put into play as the fall guy. But then his attorney's had meetings with GM and the Feds. He had documented everything he did including writing notes after phone calls, saving all his emails, etc. His name hasn't come up since.

So I understand the "read receipt" thing. I just don't let them go out until I'm ready to officially acknowledge having read them.

There you go. As Mezla said, maybe I have become one of "them" and my soul will writhe in misery for all time, but when any random mistake can cost thousands of dollars, I keep a paper trail, an electronic trail, and even back ups of the back up in some instances.

And I will whip that evidence out as needed, because I work for a man that likes to play the blame game. C.Y.A.

She definitely used some kind of gigantic (from my POV) electric drill in my mouth at the end. I Have no idea what its name was though.

She said you can eat immediately afterwards if you want to, "just be careful". I didn't even eat anything until ten hours later, it was agony.
I need to go back in a week anyway, that is part of the reason I was so desolate last night.
