Staff at the pharmacy lying in my face. I finally found something that helps with my hayfever, but damn if I'm going to pay the ridiculous price they ask for 5ml of the stuff, which brings me through four days - five if I'm lucky. So I ask at the pharmacy if they at least got bigger bottles of it and get told at two places that no, bigger bottles do not exist. Bullshit, I looked it up on the manufacturer's website beforehand. And lo and behold, at the third pharmacy I ask, someone finally has the decency to admit that no, they simply don't stock it, but they could order it and have it here by this evening. Great. Why do I have to call them out on lying before they're willing to sell me something? Eh?

Don't forget Canada...we've had Cons in charge for nearly a damned DECADE. Ugh.

Well, to be fair, I don't think it's -that- bad yet. At least Cameron can phrase a coherent thought and can be reasoned with and held to account, whereas Bush Jr was simply a sock puppet for his administration.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Also I'd much prefer our conservatives here to the Republicans in the US. Seriously, they're a whole other level of messed up/detached from reality... Our lot are quite moderate by comparison.

Sorry QT I know nothing of Canadian politics except that everyone wants Harper out and Rob Ford likes eating pussy while doing cocaine (his words, AFAIK...) so I can't comment.

Unbelievably shitty weather. I am just sitting here and sheets of sweat are just flowing over my face. I have wiped my forehead so many times that the skin is chafed and feeling raw. Its at times like this that I feel incredulous people actually pay to go to saunas and sweat. Any of you sun-starved Canadians want to switch places with me? You can defreeze properly and I can stop sweating.

Couldn't have said it better myself Gore. As a civil servant and a parent with a young child I'm expecting to be hit hard.

Let's hope the Tories don't fuck things up too much.

Another Civil Servant here. Yeah. We did this to ourselves. The best we can hope for is that they don't completely dismantle the entire state and sell it to their friends. I'd be really worried if I were at the BBC, Murdoch's bound to be asking for his reward now...
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Bertrand Russell

Aren't you insulting sock puppets there?

Finished up my internship today, and sadly there was no surprise "here's an new contract for you as an full time employee". Did get some awesome cake though.

It's not a dead duck completely, but I have no real clue if people were actually trying to hint that there will be a job there in the near future, or they were just trying to be nice. I could argue it either way.

If they just said, "you're shit, we hated your work", then at least I'd know definitively where I stand.

Hopefully I'll be so busy this month with some personal projects that the time will fly and there might be a final resolution to this by June. Need to do all that shite like make a website, and do a linkedin profile as well. Not my thing really.

This!

Also, apparently the thing to do if you're a Tory in victory is to start abusing J K Rowling on Twitter.

Thankfully, her reply was golden:

At least Billaby Wickins chuffed the ol' merrywhistle a gob or two before they were snurfed in the fourth wugwomp.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

It's why I usually don't comment on the facebook page, no more notifications is more bother than it's worth.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

There's a toddler-sized snot-making plague reservoir in my house that keeps wiping yellow snot on my legs and sneezing into my crotch.

I did this to myself... 😥

Yeah that one sort of ran away with us after a while.

Although the mental image of Midsummer's Pint running around waving his Storm Zinger this way and that is somewhat hilarious.

The facebook page is a cesspool of idiocy, and contains a disturbing amount of complete assholes.

Had I been Brood I would have nuked the whole thing from orbit years ago.

You might be right. But what little I use of Facebook, the feed thing, the consistently worst idiocy I see are the malazan threads.
