I think that's just facebook.

You might be right. But what little I use of Facebook, the feed thing, the consistently worst idiocy I see are the malazan threads.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Long tough day at work, then home only to be hounded by phone calls about work.

Got rid of those just in time to be informed that my girlfriend has been slapped with a draconian on-the-job training schedule that stretches for at least a year (probably two) and has effectively nixed all our plans for the near future. She is a teacher and this schedule is basically ten hour days everyday during all school vacations, and every weekend for non-vacation times. Frankly I am worried about her health. She is extremely worried.

I am feeling murderous now

We do. Too many. Unfortunately this is an elementary teachers case, who always get low priority or just outright ignored. Also the union has the same political affiliation as the adminsitration so they will do squat.

17thshard.... Idk why I haven't deleted my username there yet. There a My Little Pony thread and these people are writing novels in response of the OP. I'm LOLn so hard at these people. The Board seems to be stuck in middle/high school.

Any board that has a swear filter or a filter that changes swears to silly words is obviously going to be full of kids.

RE that thread on Facebook, if I ever meet that Maark guy, I'm going to punch him square in the dick.

I have a really sore jaw.

For some reason over the last week I have started to clench my jaw, which is something that I have never done before.

I must be getting anxious about something but I have no idea what. My wife actually told me off about it at 6.30 this morning as I was doing it in my sleep too.

It's somewhat depressing to see that this is the case elsewhere in the world as well. We're in the middle of renogotiating our workplace agreement at the moment and the majority of the focus is on issues that only/mostly effect secondary teachers. My partner is a primary school teacher and has been getting more and more frustrated with the whole thing.

10 hours a day during school breaks sounds utterly absurd though. There's no way that will be practical/teaching-based, and therefore would be a giant waste of time. Is that required for all (I'm assuming new) teachers?

I may need to.

This is something completely out of character for me.

I have never ground my teeth together or clenched my jaw. my wife just told me i actually woke her up last night so feel bad for that.

More huge earthquakes in Nepal.

Death toll is above 8,000 and something like 400,000 people are completely homeless as in their houses don't exist in any repairable form anymore.

At least my small community here in the US raised 13,000+ to go towards tents and other forms of shelter there.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I saw that. Terrible that it happened so soon after the first. They've taken up collections in a number of stores here in Canada and I've tried to give a ten or twenty when I can. any little bit helps.

For messing with my groove, I have once again fallen victim to letting clients know that I'll be on vacation for a week starting Friday as a nice way to give them a little leeway to make sure the really important stuff they need done gets done before I take off...and JUST like last year when I gave them the same heads up...they've taken complete and utter asshole advantage of me by basically sending me a months worth of tasks to complete in three days. I've received upwards of 40-50 emails (each is a task) to be done...and this is JUST ONE customer out of the myriad that I do things for in my job. The lesson I'm learning here is that these jerks will from here on out find out I'm on vacation when they email me on a random morning and have it kicked back with my vacation out of office notice...and let them scramble to sort it out. I'm just sick of the kneejerk "we have to send him EVERYTHING JUST IN CASE!!" mentality of these people.

Urg. Annoyed.

Felt it here. We had to evacuate. The institute where I work raised some money and sent it over, but I really think we should have done more.

That just blows. Looks like it was more eastward. Was 1st or 2nd closest to you?

All this activity has me fearing one of the Supers are getting ready to erupt.

This one was way closer. We had to evacuate today. But I really can't imagine what the people of Nepal are going through. And as for the Big One, that is on everyone's minds. We dont know where it will hit. Himalyan tectonic, or maybe even in the Indian Ocean

OH-MY-GOD! Wtf is up with 2015? Yes this is another bug entry. The brown winged termites are smarming for their hump season. I just looked out my window and thought maybe I was having an acid flashback... There's thousands of them crawling UP my window. Look like reverse raindrops and now they are starting to get in house and crawling and flying on everything. This is the single worst night I have ever seen them do this.

Uh.. don't termites eat wood? and aren't most houses in USA made out of wood? So..um... are they eating your house?

They do but these aren't the big eaters type. Also they are focused on sex atm not food which seems like a good thing this night.

So unleash the bug spray? I can't believe how many different types of insects you have to deal with

Spray wouldn't even dent these numbers that are appearing.

Now you know why I love my cold winters so much and I can get a 3-4 month break.

So what do you do with termites? Its not like you have an ant-eater around, and you can't flamethrow your own house....

All I can imagine is those "horror" movies where a horde of insects start eating people.

It'll be ant mating season in the UK soon. Like walking through a horde of goddamn Zerg.

It used to be that bats would put dents in the millions of bugs flying around, but they're dying en masse due to fungus and pesticides.
