Another essay I've left way too late. It's due tomorrow, I'm really tired already and just can't be bothered with it. Not boding well.

One of my friends was diagnosed with cancer. He's got maybe two years. This was a couple weeks ago.


Today, one of my friends confided in me that her dad apparently has cancer.

Ugh. Shift finished at midnight. For whatever reason was still awake at 2. For whatever reason didn't sleep too well. Woke up at half 7 & I think thats it now. Am shattered need coffee. Like, injected straight into my veins coffee.

Mate died in a fire this morning. Don't know the specifics but can't imagine it was a nice way to go.

I thought I had just left this essay to the last minute. Apparently it was actually due yesterday.

Currently looking through the penalties for late submission and they don't seem too bad at least.

Something really petty, but a friend of mine posted a really, ugh, lets say pro atheism message on Facebook that basically said she was smarter and somehow more mentally strong for being a atheist and people you are religious are somehow more stupid/weaker. And nothing bad has ever been done in the name of atheism. Just so no thinks I'm throwing around religious privilege here, I identify as agnostic I guess, I really don't care who or what is running the universe. Anyways I politely told her of Stalin's great purges and how entire populations of people find strength through the Church (and I'm sure other places of worship) and saying those people are somehow morally weak or stupid for doing so is doing them a great disservice (specifically thinking of the African-American community). I didn't get mad or use coarse language like I usually would. Annnnnnnd she deleted my comment. Then she deleted the post. Then posted another pro-atheist post...and deleted it. Then deleted every post talking about atheism (some that great insight into moral responsibility, really interesting stuff) for like two months back.

Did I just make a person have a moral crisis? And I won't find out because she hasn't returned my text or Facebook message. DAMN!

Amphibian: All I'm doing is pointing out that talking about Hitler for no reason and using the language that you do here comes off terrible. You could post the same photo, talk as you usually do and show that Tupac supports both mustaches and Duke without looking like a clueless and possibly racist jerk.

LB: There is a reason I referenced H - the gap in my mustache where he grew his (hence reverse H-word). The mention of a villain does not equate to me admiring him or condoning his actions. This is simple stuff. Also, at what point do I say anything racist? Is a white man not allowed to post a picture of a famous black entertainer and make a pun? Pick your battles - this post should not be one of them. The most offensive things here are your name-calling and aversion to comedic free speech.

Amphibian: It being comedic free speech doesn't mean anything about its actual content or context. You did a wrong thing. Doesn't mean you're a racist jerk forever and a day. It just means that what you did is wrong - and instead of seeing it or realizing it, you're getting mad and claiming comedy excuses it or that there's nothing wrong here.

This, to me, sounds like the perfect opportunity to cackle in glee. Never mind the moral high ground here - drive that crisis of hers straight off the cliff. If she doesn't believe in me she deserves every evil that comes her way.

People who promote atheism are usually significantly worse than most religious people. Theres the smug religious holier than thou types that think their belief makes them better than you but the majority of people are simply sharing a religion that they have gained strength from,usually in the form of a community. Promoting atheism usually takes the form of atheists smugly looking down on the 'backwards' followers of religion or condescendingly trying to wean them off religion claiming they dont need it.
