What's messing with your groove?

Need a new/better/less boring job.
Lack of available jobs, especially for idiots like me, who picked up a drug charge in my college days, and it still screws me out of so many opportunities. Simple possession/misdemeanor, not a felony, least serious charge available.

Silencer is full of crap on this one (sorry!). Double standards are not part of the package unless you allow them to be. The entire idea that double standards like that exist is because men accept that they do and women run with it. If she has a problem, calming let her explain it, see where she is coming from then either plan to work at it or explain why it's not something you can/are willing to change. Then bring up your issue and if she kicks up a fuss point out that you were kind enough to listen to her and ask for the same level of respect in turn. If she is unreasonable then you probably have bigger issues to worry about, I'm afraid.
This is only possible in a very unique type of relationship, wherein both sides are relatively rational human beings at all times on most subjects, and given that they have realistic expectations of each other. Go back and read Sombra's post - his issue is that the GF points out his flaws/failings and that's all fine. But when he points out HER flaws/failings or tries to respond to her criticisms SHE gets upset and angry about it. How exactly is one supposed to resolve this situation peaceably? "Calmly" letting her explain the problem here is not going to work if she's getting upset/angry every time he mentions she's made a mistake or tries to defend himself from such accusations, for a start, and in this case it will ALL be considered Sombra's "issue", not the GFs.
Coming back to my previous statement - in nearly every single married/dating couple I have met, I have witnessed double standards of this kind. The relative success of a relationship from there depends on whether those double standards can be resolved or put up with; again, assuming a certain type of personality in both parties, it can be worked out, but honestly it hardly ever is, at least in my observations.
Not that Sombra shouldn't necessarily try and mitigate or resolve the problem (as I said, ignoring does not work) but I'm just pointing out that [i]he won't win[i] in the end.

The last post. Seriously, I get that the economy is down in the US right now, but the practice of holding shit people got caught for when they were in Uni against them is retarded. The list of people I knew, or even met, when I was in school who had not done something worthy of a misdemeanor has zero names on it, and I wasn't an athlete or taking an arts/humanities degree. Whether it was drinking in public, public nudity (or fornicating), drug possession etc. everyone had done one or more items on the list.
The other things messing with my groove are that tomorrow is Sunday, but I found out I will have to work it anyway and my travel agent is really taking her time on getting my itenerary/costs settled for my coming vacation.
Edit: post before last

I literally was 'hired' on at a semi decent job, right after my interview, test taking, drug screening, etc. I was given all of my paperwork, even the form for setting up my direct deposit. Somewhere towards the end he does mention that everything seems great, and that I seem to be perfect for the position, all he is waiting on is my criminal history and credit report information, but I left feeling like I def had the job on a Monday. I received a call the next day explaining how I would NOT be able to follow through on my hiring process because of my misdemeanor drug possession from when I was 19 years old, in college. It was a stupid mistake, I know, but the punishment has far surpassed the crime. I've missed out on many good opportunities because of it. It is the biggest 'bums me out' aspect of life.

No Sombra, you're the cause of all the problems!
Biting one's own tongue is probably the best course of action available to you in said situation. And depending on her temperament, quiet words to the GF about snotface and what's bugging you. 'Course, that one CAN backfire horribly, so it's a judgement call. XD

Which totally sucks since it's something that should be irrelevant. If I was interviewing someone with no experience who swore they had never done anything worthy of a misdemeanor when they were in Uni, I would hesitate to hire them because I would think they might have social issues. The entire practice of taking such things into account is retarded IMO. If they have experience that's what matters, I don't care about anything they did at university anymore. Unless it's a job where you need to be bonded, small indiscretions when you were in school should not matter.

I dunno if you guys have noticed, but Sombra makes that same post here like once every month or two. It's like a tradition, you're not supposed to give him actual advice.

Hmmm, you're right. Thank you for noticing, I'll fix that forthwith.
I'll also do my very best not to be angry at the same thing twice and/or mention it here.
I do beg your pardon.

Just watched the video causing the uproar in the middle east. Such stupidity causing so much loss of life... I cant put into words how underwhelmed I am right now.

OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE!! I'm trying to locate a parcel in UK on behalf of my University, but the tracking service at their webpages doesn't work (possibly because of Norwegian tracking number, although that should be an international standard) and the customer contact service at the Royal Mail requires a UK postal code to submit a query. And their international service pages is wholly and completely aimed at UK customers. Dear Royal Mail, may you drown in rotten c**t juice, you unhelpful lardturd.
