Jobhunting sucks. Finally eligible for some back to work programmes, and of course now several things come up at the same time, and in the wrong order!
Got offered a college place but it's doubtful I can take it without financial assistance. I went along to chat to the course co-ordinator out of curiosity, and she asked if i could come back later that day for an actual interview. And then after the interview, they asked if I'd like a place, and maybe to even skip the first year! Would love to do the course, but it's come on such short notice I have nothing in place to finance it. And they want a reply by tomorrow!
I could risk waiting and applying for a job I have a moderate/good chance of getting (and isn't strictly what I'd like to do but would be great to pick up some useful skills). And there will probably more work coming up through the same back to work programme, but I can't really be certain.
And then there is the best of the lot, an industry standard course, which if i got accepted would definitely have financial assistance, but is ludicrously competitive, so I have little chance of getting on it.

I just realised that if I go on my course after trade transferring early next year, I won't be in Brisbane for Soundwave.
It's sold out, so if it ends up that I'm NOT here on Feb 23, there may be a spare ticket for someone who can make it.

Terrible time to be sick, as always.

Dual monitor set-up at work defies my attempts at ergonomic workstation arrangement. I never thought I'd be annoyed at having two 22' screens!

Try dual 24" monitors...
On another note kinda pissed that I ended up with a B in my master's class, which is going to cost me $750 out of pocket cause work will only reimburse 80% for a B...

Chill out Sombra - you'll never win that one. Double standards are inherent in the setup, I'm afraid.

Silencer is full of crap on this one (sorry!). Double standards are not part of the package unless you allow them to be. The entire idea that double standards like that exist is because men accept that they do and women run with it. If she has a problem, calming let her explain it, see where she is coming from then either plan to work at it or explain why it's not something you can/are willing to change. Then bring up your issue and if she kicks up a fuss point out that you were kind enough to listen to her and ask for the same level of respect in turn. If she is unreasonable then you probably have bigger issues to worry about, I'm afraid.
