It's my mum's birthday today and I had organised an entire evening for it but my brother decided he'd invite his friends over tonight as well and so did my younger sister so now none of my plans are doable and it really annoys me since i made a point of telling them i'd be planning something. Annoyance.

In this situation I'd say your mum's B-day takes precedent over their stuff. Kick the rest of them the F out and stick to your guns.

Both excellent ideas but I went witg the 'make the most of it' approach instead. Figured so long as my mum had a good night my own feelings about the evening didn't matter much. Since she did have a good night it all worked out well in the end

Surgery yesterday. Feeling a bit sore and delicate today. Apparently this will continue for at least the next 2, possibly up to 7 days.

On the bright side, work gave me convalescent leave until June 11th. Which just happens to be the Queens Diamond Jubilee public holiday here, so I'll go back on the 12th. And none of it is coming out of my own leave. :)

My sister woke up covered in measles which means she was infectious the last two times I saw her which means I could possibly be infected which will most likely have me sick just in time for my friend's wedding......hopefully I'm not infected because I'd hate to wear a facemask to the wedding, would totally clash with my dress

Measles? Don't you guys get vaccinated? I'm pretty sure around here it's required for school attendance.

Regardless, infectious disease blows.

Stormy - you get vaccinated as a child and again in your early teens but there is always the chance of catching it. Since I have never had measles and my last mmr vacination was a decade ago there's a chance I could get it. Didn't say it was likely

Dutch - I always love the way you think.

Was sat on the computer reading cracked and looked down to find the cold bit on my hand was not a drop of rain from the open window but a snail crawling on the mouse.

What the actual fuck?

It sounds like you wasted way more time on cracked than you thought.

Also, I should make clear that when I said nurse, I didn't mean nurse in the traditional sense of the word.
