You'll all get robbed en route! I've heard tell about this Seth Efrica you speak of. Is it true you all have flamethrowers built-in to your cars? :p

The guy that built that lived in my city. It was a real invention, it got patented and everything, but the government said it was too dangerous and stopped it being put into production.

The crime rate is higher than in a lot of other countries, but it's not like spend our every moment fearing for our lives.

@cause, that is a valid point, if they can make the trip together. Maybe meet in Bloem, since it's about half way :p

I have been to bloem. We might as well meet on the side of the highway at the excact mid-point than go to bloem!

@Cause - My girlfriend is from Bloem, we go visit her family a couple of times a year... Granted all we do while we're there is get ridiculously drunk.

Biltong is awesome stuff. It isnt particularly hard to make, it just takes forever and you need somewhere with the right conditions for it to dry. I'm suddenly wondering what Kangaroo biltong will taste like.

Ya more mense

a friend of mine at work has some game farming experience
and claims the following biltong are best:

1:Buck Biltong
2:Ostrich biltong (serious doubts here)
3:Lion biltong (don't ask)

I tend to think kangaroo biltong would fit right in there under buck...

Personally I think durban biltong lacks quality, but the spices are brilliant!

Dolmen - you also a Saffer?

Kudu Biltong is the best buck biltong in my opinion. I've had Ostrich before, it's very salty but quite good. It would be much harder to make biltong down at the coast because of the humidity, that's probably what the difference is.

Carnivores tend not to make good eating, so I have doubts about the lion Biltong.

Holy Fuck. I looked at this last page... and have NO idea what is going on. Look's like German to me.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

They sell Biltong on Brighton Pier for some fucked up reason. I have absolutely no idea what the British seaside has to do with lumps of dried meat, but there you go.

Biltong is the tastiest snack in the world. Best part is it can take the place of lunch, supper or breakfast as a nutritious meal as well

shame sharks don't seem to have much of a chance this season lol,

as for biltong well I think other countries call it jerky? not too sure but I think jerky and biltong are similar
in nature, but not in taste,

sad to hear durban doesn't lend itself to biltong conditions. ahh the price of limitless coastline...:(

Jerky is always really thin strips, whereas Biltong (what I've seen anyway) is usually much thicker. Plus I think biltong is cured with vinegar whereas jerky is just dried, but I could be wrong there.

correct!!!

biltong is sooooo much better than jerky, the thickness makes it still soft and delicious in the middle.
And with some fat on its edge it toe curling good, its better than bacon by a lonnnnng shot.

thats right...i said it....Its better than bacon!!!
