Honestly it feels amazing to put weight on my left foot without shooting pains in my toe.
Note for future fixing of this issue: Get a bucket. Fill it with almost scalding hot water and scoopfuls of salt. Soak foot until water cools. Repeat once more. I had the same problem before (I now keep my feet in better shape), and what happens is the hot water and salt soften up the infection and will eventually release the pus and blood in the water. I've had to do this twice in my life and it worked both times. Hopefully you can let the nail grow out enough so that it can be trimmed properly in future. The release of the pus and blood will (as I'm sure you now know) ease the pain considerably.
Owwww...ingrown toenails suck! Glad to hear it's been taken care of but yeah, be careful when the nail grows out. I've had toenail issues for a while now and my doc told me that one of the biggest "do not do's" is cutting the nail too short. However, if it keeps recurring you might want to get it checked out as it could be a fungal infection (that's what I had) and if it is, you may need antibiotics. I didn't need them but that's cos the infection I had / have is verrrrry minor and the potential side effects from the antibiotics were worse than the actual foot issues.
