I feel a need to describe what a happy beer and a happy pint is here in Denmark.

The happy beer is when the girl (or on horrible occassions, old lady) opens your beer and then inserts it in her hoo hoo and serves it to you.

A happy pint is when the girl (or on horrible occassions, old lady) inserts some kind of dildo like shape over the handle on the beer tap and uses her hey naa naa to pour the beer.

Usually there's some kind of bonus, where, if you down the whole thing in one go, you get a new one free.

Ehm, you're kidding me, right? While I'm not terribly shocked by the idea in and of itself, I do think this is not a service you're going to get in the regular cafetaria, unless barmaids are getting paid a hell of a lot more in Denmark than anywhere else in the world. Which begs the question: if it isn't a regular service and only offered in certain places, then why the fnck is there a 50-year old woman behind the tap?!

I think you've watched too much American TV Tapper if you think that every employee in a strip joint is a playboy bunny, 21 years old and on her way to college. Not all night clubs/Strip clubs are high end places with hot women and champagne flowing. Some places are not much more than a regular bar but with a couple of stripper poles and an a retired stripper/prostitute serving drinks behind the counter.

Istedgade, it's a hell of a street!

Which just goes to show that there really are career options for strippers over 30! This reminds btw that I once promised Apt a
happy pint in Istedgade if he would drink it. The offer is still on....:-p

I am happy because of sunshine , holiday, coffee and black metal. :(

South Park and Eric Cartman is making me happy...

on a side note, not having DOD yet is not making me happy at all....

Some part of the world
These are the pale deaths which
Men miscall their lives
All this I cannot bear
To witness any longer
Cannot the kingdom of salvation

Nope, not thinking that (hell, I party in Amsterdam, you see the sad, sad side of adult entertainment every time you go there), but your formulation led me to expect that this was more or less a 'regular' danish tradition/service, which was why I raised my eyebrows. If Istengade is anything remotely like the Ouderzijdse Voorburgwal, then yes, it is probably rundown, sad and dirty :(

What's making me happy: I totally tore into this useless non-plumber who's been supposedly trying to fix my blocked drains for the past 4 days. I told him that if the problem isn't fixed today I'm calling in a professional plumber (at $110 an hour, hehehe) and I'm sending him the bill since it's his fault that my drains were blocked in the first place. (See my post in the "messing with your groove" thread for all of the details).

It's fun to be able to yell at people and know that you're 100% right. :( I felt so much better afterwards.

The green one has a point.

Although most alcoholic beverages (save the dreaded appletini) are valid accompaniments.

@Tiste: It was just too early for a drink. And I am trying not to drink on my own. :(
