I have a new favorite poster: beru.

(I'm really not being mean here - he cracks me up in a completely unintentional way)

Sorry, Rodeo.

The real reason I came here: I got two sets of shinguards for Muay Thai. Combine that with my two sets of MMA gloves, my brother's friend's headgear and cups all 'round and we may have an honest to god fight club going on soon.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Mmmm. Clausen pickles. Yum.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

The fact that after not playing since March, I won every game of table tennis I played (except 1 - against my boss! dammit!) in the Q-store today. Some were complete drubbings against the more competitive spirits in the store. :p

These 2 news stories are also making me happy right now:

I have a mental image of a gerbil "making an offer you can't refuse!" :(

Oh yes, I now have new glasses, for the first time in 8 years.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I remember when I got my first pair of glasses (~second grade) and could actually see that trees had leaves.

I'm happy that the vet says my cat doesn't have anything seriously wrong. I'm unhappy that it costs about $200 to find that out.

Yeah, vets are just like mechanics. It'll cost you just to find out there's nothing wrong. There are other similarities too. The other day I had my ferret in for a checkup and the vet changed his air filter and replaced his alternator belt without even asking. I know ferrets, and i I know that his alternator belt was fine.

What about his alignment tho? That's the key thing to watch for in kids and pets.
