I prefer to spread the vacation days out a bit and combine them with our overtime hours.

Given that this is the first full calendar year Ive worked (July 18 through to August 19) without taking my customary extended breaks I'm going all out.

Edit first year in a long time, I worked pretty much solid for 4/5 years after college. Im self.employed so don't care overly about holiday days taken per se, as I'm not limited that way. But I usually only work in total like 10 months a year, last run was 12 out of 13

12 day vacation starts tomorrow.

Are we talking National Lampoon or Eat Pray Love?

I'm going to lie on a couch and move as little as possible.

Ah.
Weekend At Bernie's then.

Robert Mugabe has died. One less dictator in the works. Hope it doesn't destabilise the region further...

Depending on who you believe, Mugabe hasn't actually been in charge for a decade or so.

Getting married today! 267 is final guest count and I've set this up so it's going to be a fantastic party after the Hindu ceremony.

I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Congrats Amph!

Today is a big day for me too. It's the Great North Run! All the training and pain come to this. I am so not ready but I'm going to give it my best shot.

If you can get BBC of some kind it's usually shown live. 57,000 people taking part so you might not catch me on TV running but I'll be near the back regardless...

FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!

Colts will lose. :(
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Congratulations Can't-A-Duh. You actually 'can' - first time to win a grand slam single tennis championship (U.S. Open) by Bianca Andreescu. I'm so very pleased, because I loathe Serena Williams, especially after that shit she pulled last year and ruined Naomi Osaka's moment.

So, you do you Canada. Celebrate with some syrupy pancakes and enjoy it, cause it's back to sucking at most everything again tomorrow.

Here's some eye candy for you Cafucks to help kick of the celebration. Go wild, you wobbly dildos. Posted Image

For some reason this put 'Awaken', the theme of the Pillar Men, into my head.

Despite that they are Aztec. And their theme is somehow Arabic in style.

What is going on in my brain today.

Go have some alcohol and Haagen-Daaz, maybe some fries. That much exercise causes all kind of damage you need to repair immediately.

I've solved the dilemma of what to buy first when I win the $150 million Powerball next Thursday:

:w00t:

"Only" 3.5 out of 5 apparently, because of "connectivity" and "safety features". Well, fuck connectivity, it's a fucking sports car. I won't exactly be skyping or whatever when I'm tear-arsing around. On legal tracks, of course.
And safety - puh-LEASE, if you're doing 300km/h or so you probably WANT to die if you hit something.

Mid-life crisis mode fully engaged.
