Because where I live is not really at the forefront of film or tv production here in Ireland, it's been hard to get decent experience on set on a regular basis. However, in the last 6 weeks i've been able to get work on a TV pilot, help a friend finish his self funded feature film, and today start 6 weeks of work on a RTE/BBC co-production.
Today is particularly good, because it's a spin off from the feature film i worked on 2 years ago. So i got to meet up with a bunch of old friends, and meet a bunch of other people who have good connections. Long day, so I'm tired but happy.

Saw COLDPLAY for the 4th time last night! Still the best damned band, and the greatest show on the planet!

Put the baby in nursery and took the day off. We've just been to a really nice restaurant for a long boozy lunch. I'm only posting here because we're too full to move. Got an alarm set in case we snooze through nursery closure time

We took Ripley to an indoor playground today and there was only one other kid there. He leans over to me and says "That kid is awesome. Me going to go play with her." Then he does his proud walk/strut over to her and says "You are awesome. Me want to play with you."
They then spend the next hour playing together.
As they played, whenever the girl did something impressive or had a good idea my son would compliment her: "You are the best." "That's a good idea. Good thinking." "Awesome try!" "Me like they way you did that."
At the age of four, my son has more game than anyone I know.

I had no idea the new Brand New album was dropping today. It's super mellow and I've instantly fallen in love with it like I did south Deja Entendu sand God and the Devil are Raging Inside Me.

Finally heard from my friend in Texas. They're safe, their family is safe, and he has heard from most of his friends and he has managed to check up on most of his students (he is a science teacher for the school district).

Banquet hall booked. Just need to give deposit on Wed, no need to worry about details (like how many people attending) till I get back.
Speaking of which: I made a packing list yesterday. It's finally starting to sink in that I'm about to go on vacation, and see parts of my family for the first time in 4 years...

A (former) Texan here at work has told me to ask about some sort of "Cajun Navy"?

What did he want asked about it Sombra? Here the wiki. https://en.m.wikiped...wiki/Cajun_Navy
I was just chatting to him as we were leaving work, said I hoped his family and friends were OK etc as I knew he was from TX. Apparently some of them are in affected areas and have had varying levels of problems but they've all checked in OK. I then said I'd been paying attention and mentioned how the rain had been smashing down at your place for days (Lake Charles?) etc. He then just said "Hey, ask him about the Cajun Navy, he should know about that," but that was pretty much the extent as we were walking out the door.
I'll let him know some of them were shot at. Is that a traditional friendly neighbourhood greeting type thing in TX or did the locals just think the CN were looters?

My buddy was in League City (49 inches), well north of .. Found out he didn't get water in the house. The people across the street did.. And just down the street it's a total loss..
Those looters were posing as cops and telling people to evacuate as a note, common strategy..
For me at a custom knife show in Vegas having fun. We have people in drove here from South Africa to Japan/China .. Fun show this year!
