I've got terrible hand-eye coordination, and I'm terrible at throwing stuff.

Plus I don't really have a ton of free time to master the arcane rules of that sport.

I love chess, and I used to have a CFC rating, back when I played in undergrad. It's listed as one of my interests. And it seems much simpler than cricket

@Nom: I stay away from ice and winter-based sports in general. I'm considered "too violent" for basketball, so hockey wouldn't be a good fit (plus I'm not ever being malicious.... I'm just hopelessly reckless when I get into the game, with no care for the well-being of myself or others).

Have you considered Rugby. It is the mainly version of both Soccer and Football.

Ment gets hurt on a regular basis playing soccer.

And you think Rugby is a good idea?

He'd be in full traction within a week.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Yes. But he wouldn't complain about being injured in soccer for the entire 6 months. See bonus.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

The new Porrltugal. The Man album -Woodstock- came out this morning. It's been 4 years since Evil Friends came out, and this is a very welcome addition to my heavy rotation. I love these guys so damn much.

As an added bonus, the Boo likes them too. I had a very happy 1yo dancing around the living room this morning with me.

Just in time for Funky Fridays. You've been gone a long time. We now dress up every Friday in our funkiest duds to post.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Well considering it's the hottest day of the year by far, I'm posting in my underwear.

In non-mice related news (see messing groove thread), I found not one, but TWO sports bras that fit. It's a revelation.

You'd think that with all the emphasis on people needing exercise 'n stuff, someone would actually manufacture stuff that enables someone outside the normal range to do some exercise. But no, you have to order the stuff from halway around the world (well, the UK in this case) to FIND it. 'Cause sorry, but I'm not doing anything that'll see me bludgeoned to death by my own boobs.

Anyway, I'm happy and looking forward to taking up exercise again :(

It's kinda humiliating when they're your own, though.

Talk to Centz. I'm sure "almost bludgeoned to death by own chesticles" is somewhere on her extensive list of self-inflicted injuries ... :p

Hey! Many of my injuries aren't self inflicted!

Though, I may or may not have many self inflicted bruises from dancing around the house without adequate support :(

Uki festival in my city (the one time a year I don't go to Toronto- Toronto people come to us!)

Reasonably priced beer, "meh" music, and most importantly- a ton of people I've not seen in a long time.
Followed up by a decent-ish after-party, catching up with more people.

Good night overall. Also, one of my friends is an ER nurse who confirmed I don't have a fracture in my wrist. So that's a bonus.

Sim has just told me I have to make a return - so here I am :( haven't been around online too much since moving.

I have just come back from a holiday involving birds of prey, wolves and lots of the obligatory "old stuff that's fallen over" and am a much happier TRB than the previous incarnation had been for a bit!

Also, a new little being in my life:

This is Euros - she's a baby Common Kestrel. Dubbed after this photo "Action Kestrel". She lives at the BOP Centre now but did spend a week at home with me. Because of the holiday I won't have seen her for three weeks by the time I go back on Saturday - so excited :p

Welcome back, TRB!

How long does the "cute little floof" stage last before transitioning into "grudgingly trained eviscerator"?
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.
