2016 has been an ace year for new albums. This week, The Dear Hunter released their new album, Act V. If you don't know them, Acts I-IV are all stunning.

So that's what is making me happy!

Also excited for my free trial Jiu jitsu class that starts in about 45 minutes. I've wanted to do this for a long time.

Well done RLY, that's some impressive weight loss. I need to drop something like that amount as well in the coming months, so it's reassuring to see someone else manage it.

Still struggling with the diet, but I've finally managed to get back into the exercise properly, and so i have those welcoming aches and pains that come from actually having put in an effort. And I play my first 11-a-side soccer match for about 3 years tomorrow evening, which should be entertaining as it's an over-35's league and most of us won't have played together for nearly 10 years. Looking forward to it.

It's all about the calorie counting. It's so easy to underestimate your intake if you aren't tracking every bite. It gets obsessive but strangely a bit fun. I try to keep it under 1200 calories a day but allow myself up to 1500 on special occasions, like the weekend. 1500 is as low as is "medically recommended," whatever that means.

I did this when I was trying to keep my weight at a certain level, and it for sure works (I used to use a calorie tracker, but now I know what most of the stuff I put in my stomach costs calorie-wise and I can do it in my head). Beyond that, for the special ociassion days you can offset your calorie count by doing an hour of excercise. I used to do this on days where I knew I was going out and consuming a lot of beer (for example), I could offset an entire sixpack of beer with an hour of running. Just dropping 200 calories from what you used to eat every day will slowly shed the pounds. Good for you man!

My first class, I got kneed in the balls so hard I had to go to the bathroom and take a poop.

Still loved it and I hope you do too. Sometimes, it is a struggle to show up and be competent. Sometimes, I feel like a golden god. Most days, it is a mix and I am almost always glad I showed up (except that one day where I did MMA sparring with a migraine. Don't do that.).
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I'm so out of shape, still heavier than I have ever been while exercising, and in a low carb/low calorie diet. I barely made it through the warm up. By the time we got to talking Any actual Jiu-jitsu I wanted to die. I had fun though. It really showed me how long ago high school wrestling was though. My body just doesn't react the way it used to.

Making me happy - I now have a start date for my new job, start training to become a professional accountant on the 24 October.

Although between that I also have another interview (promotional opportunity) with the same team so fingers crossed there.

Back at work now like, but had an amazing long weekend with my Girl.
2 days here in Faenza and 2 days in Rome.
Good food, good drink and good company.
Only 2 weeks left for me now.

So, I applied for a job in Australia the other week. Well, honestly, I've been applying for *many* jobs in Australia since quitting my last job here. (Or, as my former manager would insist, "resigned", because apparently it's not quitting if you do it with forethought and reasons, instead of ragequitting - though god knows I was close to the latter many times...)
Got to the digital interview. Hate those. I can see how they make things quicker for the HR team/hiring manager, but they are literally the worst. Then got a real interview (over the phone, thankfully, so no expensive short-notice flights overseas). Hadn't heard back for almost a week, when I get a call from HR.

Apparently, contrary to expectations, I did well enough in my interview that there's another job, with better hours, they want me to apply for! So now I've got another interview set up for that one on Wednesday.

If that goes well, I could be moving to Australia sometime in October! Suuuuuuuuuuuper excited about this, so I really hope I get the job. Frankly I would take just about anything on offer, but the job in question is full time (bank hours, so legit 9-5, none of this starting at 7:30am rubbish I've been putting up with in my casual job [I am NOT a morning person]), and should pay decently.

Plus, my dad somehow got my mum to come around to not being super-pissed-off at me leaving overseas, which is huge because it means the whole leaving home thing won't be detrimental to my mental state and overall enjoyment of finally getting to do this! (Go dad!)

Anyway, here's hoping I can impress once again, and come away with a new job in a new country!

I thought standard practice was to ostracise a Kiwi who wanted to be an Aussie?

Found the missing keys for work. They were behind my Prince of Nothing paperbacks on the second-top shelf, right across from the door to my room.

Not feeling jetlagged. This is V. good, because I`ve got a pretty busy week @ work coming up.

The ostracising begins when they come to our country, but we still let them in, so we have someone to laugh at ;)

I am happy because my holiday is all booked for February and I got my tattoo that I have been wanting for ages last week.
