Hmmmm

The second statement casts large shadows on your ability to accurately judge 'sexy'. Also 'new' and maybe 'car'.

It's new to me, and only 3 years old. It's a Ford Mondeo Titanium estate. Got all the bells and whistles inside. Lots of space too!

It's not exactly making me happy per se but I couldn't comment on Facebook so I am doing it here.

Tiste liked a photo of another forum member and it came up on my feed and I just wanted to say (in the least creepy way possible) "SO PRETTY!"

That's all.

I started out reading this as "Ford... What?..." but then I realized i'm just a stupid American that figured most vehicles would have the same name outside the US unless it was offensive or made no sense in that country. Also, the "Titanium Estate" model sounds super fancy for it being basically an upgraded Ford Escape.

Estate is a type (usually longer with a bigger boot) that many makes use. Mondeo is one of the Ford models (I guess it might just be in Europe) and the Titanium range is on most Ford models and usually denotes a better car, with extra bits and pieces. If that's the same thing as an Escape, I guess you're right.

Looks good. Yeah I don't think I've seen one here. We have SUVs and that looks like a Crossover mostly.

No, SUVs and crossovers are different again. An estate (sometimes referred to as a station wagon) is just an elongated sedan. A crossover isn't nearly as long, and tends to be more about the height than the length.

As far as car branding and types goes, America is (as usual) the odd one out. :( While there are regional variances, in most places around the world Tiste's new car is a Ford Mondeo Titanium Estate (the bits most likely to change are, in order, 'Titanium', 'Mondeo', 'Estate', 'Ford', with America basically being the only country with a different last one).
Holden is called Vauxhall in England (because that's originally what the brand was), otherwise most of us are the same. America has Chevrolet, GM, and whatnot, and also tends to have different names for other brands historically (e.g. look up the Wikipedia page on Honda Accords...so many exceptions for America!) even if they are starting to come in line now.

It's all about brand recognition and appealing to local taste (thus why things like 'Titanium' are likely to change more than the rest; giving different names for different specifications is the easiest way to manage regional variance while maintaining consistent branding), but it's hella annoying.

*this is ignoring things like manufacturing location, and America's obsession with gigantic and oversized utes/4x4s.

That car I rented when I was over there was a Vauxhall Corsa, or something like that. Not bad for a hairdresser's car.

I can tell you for a fact they do well at 150 km/h, on the roads down the west coast as well as the south and SE highways. :D

Putting the GPS onto the female Irish accent was very nice, but distracting on occasion. The saucy little minx. :(

My new car is a Ford Mondeo 2013 hatch, but only the LX which is the poor cousin to Tiste's Bentley.

You have no idea. This might be a situation where the stereotype actually doesn't do justice to the actually obsession. Its rifuckingdiculous.

The new thing is stickers on your truck.

I saw one the other day that said "Country Boy" across the back windshield. Like, hey ya'all, just in case you couldnt tell by this bigass truck with a 6" lift and no mufflers, I"m a country boy!!!

"Coal miners wife" and "coal miners girlfriend" are popular now too. Seriously, who gives a bakers fuck what your husband does for a living. My wife doesnt have a sticker on her jeep that says "House remodelers wife"!

My favorite? "Back off city boy!"

There's more, but i'll stop. Sorry for the rant in the Happy Thread.

Is it morally wrong to put truck nuts on the front, back, and sides of your compact car?

Big huge stickers that take up the whole back window. I know they've always been around, it just seems like every damn redneck here now has one.

I'm in love. Going to marry this woman if I have any input in this. She's so spectacular that it's nearly unreal. Only been three weeks, but I walk out of every meeting thinking this deep down inside. I haven't told her this, but I've told my brother (and now you strangers).
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Which is strangely appropriate in this brave new social media world. :(

Seriously, well done and my fingers are crossed for you. :D

Oh jeezus, I did that and just saw one that said "Country Boy Swag"...like what even IS that? That sticker is ridiculous because it doesn't understand the term swag or what it means. When added to a window sticker with little naked shaped ladies crouched on either side like bookends...I think we found the DOUCHE MOBILE!

Good gods, tell me that's not a prevalent thing?
