Thanks a lot. Now I'm hungry for maple bacon. Still not quite clear what that is.

Since this has turned into a contest about the weirdest bacon flavored items:

ABS (antilock braking system) module died in my car the other day, and the replacement part was going to be at least $2200. But the Mitsubishi dealers went in to bat for me and asked Mitsubishi Australia for a goodwill discount. I figured anything would be nice and told them I appreciated their efforts. They got back to me the other day and said Mitsubishi Australia were giving me the part for FREE, all I had to cough up was the $300 labour. Fix is done, new module all good, and I'm very grateful to them.

Finally, a win! Absolutely stoked. :D

Sort of. Someone else paid money to buy me a month of gold membership - it's a mega upvote I guess. I don't get any money benefits but there's a bunch of extra features on the site. If I wanted to continue I could subscribe myself. The money paid goes towards maintaining the reddit servers.

I'm just a bit more chuffed that someone thought something I said was worth that!

You may have to click on the title at the top to see the original question but basically a dude was asking how the Malazan world compared to Middle Earth in regards to depth of history, culture etc. in a worldbuilding sense. The guy loved how rich and well developed Middle Earth was & heard the Malazan world was nearly as good.

Won $800 on a jackpot question at my trivia night tonight. Every week they ask a hard question, and if nobody gets it the jackpot goes up by $50 (it hadn't gone off for several months). All my team had left by the end when it was announced, so I figured I'd just have a crack at it. We usually have no hope (one time they asked the flight distance from Sydney to Dallas to the nearest 100 km), but this time I got it right. The question was: 'what was the code name given to Osama bin Laden in the US Navy Seal raid on Abottabad in 2011?' (Answer: Geronimo). Probably fairly easy for my North American brethren, but luckily no one else got it and I took home the cash.

So there's my new graphics card paid for. :D

So, got an email that my visa application (yes, I plan to go scare the UK with my presence again) has been processed. It took them four days. Last time it took them two weeks. This is only in this thread because I am torn between 'yay' and 'eeeh, why so fast?'. Expect a post in that other thread early next week in case my suspicions come true.

On the other hand, the application process got sleeker this year. They only asked me once for my father's birth date, not at all about my last three places of residence and only twice whether I plan to become a terrorist.. So who knows?

HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

The latter, for now. Getting out of this town and putting some distance for a week or two between me and everything here is much needed. Also, it's becoming a habit and meeting people from this forum and another one is awesome. Also, I'm (definitely) finishing uni in spring and can't say when I'll have the next opportunity to do anything other than look for work. So, basically, I'm just looking for excuses to set my feet on UK soil, because I just like it there :smoke:

Also, whether I do make it to the Xmas meet-up or not, at the very least I will have taken care of the visa (if I get it). It's valid for six months, so whenever I get around to using it does not matter much.
