I had to flip a coin to decide which mood-altering thread to put this in, but I recently got round to playing and finishing Spec Ops: the Line, and it is a really good game and you will feel like a bastard at the end of it.

This is the next game I want to buy. The idea of subverting the traditional Western American soldier stereotype versus obscure foreign opponents in favour of

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

I would criticize Spec Ops for forcing your hand at certain points because it wants to further certain parts of the story, which sort of removed a part of the punch of the horrific things that happen in the game, because the game made me do them instead of me doing these things myself.

But on the other hand, when you discover that what the consequences of the shit you are doing is, fuck me, this game becomes grim.

Well, worth what ever cheap price you can find it for now a days. It's often on sale for 5-10 euro here and there.

I never left. I was always here. Watching. Listening. Taking names. Enjoying the sweet, sweet confusion that followed the ban.

The important things to remember is that Lugo - and to a lesser extent, Adams - is far more the player mouthpiece than Walker. That, and the choices you make are you, yourself making them, whereas Walker's choices are his own. Can't argue against other interpretations of it though, yours is just as valid BUT OH WAIT THIS ISN'T THE SPEC OPS THREAD

Spoiler

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I just finished Reaper's Gale, and it was fan-flippin'-tastic. The best one so far by a mile, for me.

It was probably my fave the first time through too. Nowadays I'd most often go with TBH or TTH, but they all float there on the surface and an errant wave of mood might push nearly any of them up at any one time.

So I've been procrastinating re-reading the series (And completing it, I only went up to TTH) and for some reason this totally just kicked it off for me.

I had no idea anyone even knew who I was. This statement makes me feel like a prominent and important figure of the Malazan community. Now I'm off to celebrate my new-found (in)famy and bask in all of the glory to come thereof.

I did the Papa John's Super Bowl coin flip thing. So nothing exceptional, but free pizza is free pizza.

Last night the GF and I looked at our first venue...(no I've not proposed yet, but we have to start looking this early at venues if we want to get it, and the proposal is coming in the next two months-ish)...and it became real, and it made me happy.

So yeah. Happy.

Don't do it. Or maybe I'm just bitter.

I'm happy for you.
