Wee, got new high score in Game of Nerds.

It's totally depressing that that makes me happy, but there you have it.

Also, going to London on Friday...yay! Can't wait to spend ridiculous amounts of money on perdy dresses, even though I have so many I don't know what the fuck I'm supposed to do with them, and I'm pretty goddamm good at making my own dresses, but shopping....yay! And also, drunkeness and dancing, looking untold forward to that as well.

Also also, for some reason I'm feeling slightly optimistic today. I've decided to quit my job and move to Oslo, which is the first step on the road to getting my life back together, or started, really. Hopefully. I'll see how it goes. Won't be until January, anyways.

Step 1: Quit job. Move away.

Step 2: ???

Step 3: Profit!

Wow Grim, sounds like you are making serious changes - here's to them paying off!

Also, I am pleased with my new avatar. Shallow pleasure indeed, but still... something slightly more sunny, less sultry.

Yes, I is serious change-maker.
The scary thing is, I'm doing all this on mere whims. I get an idea and then I just dive into it without looking if the water is deep enough, or if there's sharp rocks or moray eels...

So yeah, next week we'll be off for world's biggest bookfair and all our print media (booklet and postcards) are still new and shiny and people have finally shut up and stopped arguing.
Oh, and I got a straight A (well, over here it's 1.0) for an assignment I had only finished halfway AND uni is starting the week after the next. So hapiness all aroung over here.

I mean, Machine Head, Lamb of God, Trivium, ALTER BRIDGE, Lostprophets, Dashboard Confessional, Black Label Society, MASTODON, Meshuggah, Enter Shikari, Hatebreed, Chaimara, Relient K, FUCKING TURISAS?!!! So incredibly pumped. Only caveat is it'll probably be something like $200 and I need as much money as I can get for my overseas trip in a few months...

Well, this year's line-up isn't quite as diverse as last year, and some of them are fairly obscure, but still, Mastodon and Turisas on their own are enough to go.

Not a remake. It's a prequel of sorts telling the story of the team of researchers from Norway, AKA where the infected dog comes from at the beginning of the original THING, the huge slab of ice they find, the empty area where a spaceship was ect...the entire cast is mainly Scandinavian, barring an American researcher. But the film is meant to show you what happened to the initial people who encountered the thing that you only guessed at in the original film (when they investigate the abandoned, destroyed Norwegian base that the dog came from).

Presumably the film will end with the dog being chased by the helicopter that we see at the beginning of the original THING.

...and they aren't "planning it", it's been made, there is a trailer and the film actually comes out next Friday Oct 14th. LOL

and it looks effing badass!

But yeah, not a remake.

Exactly. I'm already kinda put off by the decision to go CG over real-world practical special effects, but it's not a total dealbreaker. No reason not to at least hope for the best.

Yah, it did surprisingly poorly, since it actually reviewed relatively well. I think most people felt it was a wait-for-DVD level movie, which is fair enough. That's what I'm doing, anyway.
