Because I didn't have my mobile with me and Matador doesn't have the Animal Rescue number on his phone we couldn't call someone to come remove it. I should probably mention that I live in the suburbs and this road is populated with family homes and a primary school so it isn't safe to have a snake around. Plus, due to fact that I live in the suburbs now I no longer have snake removal gear on hand/available to use (my Dad was a snake removalist and when I turned 12 I was old enough to work with him. I was the only sixth grader with a job

Whilst I'm standing on their porch knocking on the door I hear sirens wailing and suddenly I know exactly what is about to happen. I turn my head and just as I look at the snake, it's head raised up, an ambulance screams past and runs over it - EXPLOSION!!! The side of the snake exploded and a rats head went flying out of it onto the sidewalk. The snake, still alive and with a giant gaping hole in its side, starts to slither away - the rest of the rat hanging out.
Now, I'm an animal lover but c'mon - it was an EXPLODING SNAKE!!!
