Means a little more as after years in the legal industry as a non-degree holder being treated horribly, I don't think I ever really saw myself with a professional qualification and membership of a chartered body, with more to come too in the next couple of years. I'm going to be a while wrapping my head around this as it means a lot to me. Bouncing off the walls of my home office this morning!

Facebook reminded me of a Malazan Manchester meet up in 2009 on this day. It became a little famous at the time because this was the event of Cougar's chest minge and my facial love handles. Brood was there, Stone Monkey and Dag were there, and Mez was too I think she's in the background of one of the pics.

Made me reflect on how I've actually come to make some good friends IRL because of this place. October of this year will be 20 years hanging around on these forums.

I've had people from Norway, Canada and Australia stay at my house, I've travelled across Europe to meet Malazan folk, I even went to Brood's wedding.

I guess I'm grateful for (most of) you from the past couple of decades, which is what's making me happy right now.

Solid weekend. One of my best friends in town from Ottawa for the weekend, so we went out last night, and surprisingly quite a few people turned out last minute- more than I honestly expected. I miss stumbling home at almost 3 AM, don't really get to do that nearly often enough these days.

Sunny weather today, so despite sleeping in and feeling last night's binging a bit, I was able to change the brake line cable on the bike (meaning the PoS should finally be workable again for the 2 weeks I'm still gonna be around here), as well as finally finishing upgrading my grandfather's PC (there was a lot of stupidity involving different HDD partitions and old mobos not having UEFI Bios options).

Chilling in the backyard with a pint before heading in to make delicious supper.
Life feels good.

Baseball would be much more exciting if the balls were pinatas filled with killer bees... in outer space. Maybe inside a satellite. Little risk of noninjury. Real skin and blood in the game....
